If Harden doesn't win this year, then he just never will. If what he's doing right now with the adversity he's faced this year on the Rockets, yet still overcoming it all, then it's clear that he has no shot. He is the obvious MVP, but for some reason Curry is just far and away the darling of the MVP.

Dwyane Wade is a Harden homer, so is Anthony Davis, so is Damian Lillard it seems.

IF we can get the division title and be 2nd in the west, it *should* be a lock for the beard...

Lol every Nba player not on the warriors is coming out to say harden is the MVP

I think they should let fans vote the top 3 and players/hall of famers get to vote the MVP from those 3.

I can see Davis coming to houston in FA, same with cousins

"I think James Harden should be MVP. It's close between him and Steph, but James doesn't have as much help as Steph does." - Damian Lillard (march 5th)

for those of us who haven't heard lillard's take on the MVP. like me until now.

It's such an obvious and logical way of thinking, and it's not surprising that all these NBA players who are speaking out about it feel the same. They know the deal.

Last year Durant won it because of injuries to his team mostly Westbrook...this year they changed the narrative.

If Best player on Best team is such the main factor than how in the world does Tim Duncan have two MVP awards?

They change the rules to this damn award every year.

From Best player on best team.
    To Best player.
    To Most Valuable.

And just give it to whoever they want to win it. Harden is going to have to start some youtube series or something. I feel like that will do a lot more to his MVP campaign than actual play on the court.

Yeah, they literally put the two most annoying people in one video to talk about who is MVP.

When Duncan won, all the top teams were within 2-4 games.

Last year, the Thunder were the 2nd best team by 3 games, and Durant's production was clearly superior to anyone else.

That's not what he's saying, he's saying how does Duncan only have it twice when the Spurs were the best team what is it now, 8 times?

Amin has said some stupid **** before, but I never see him take flack for it. It's pretty damn sad that he calls people who take PPG into consideration as a voting element uneducated, especially when "best team record" is being thrown around out there so much.

I know Strauss is a GSW homer, what about Amin?

Amin has obvious bias towards the Suns as he used to work for them. Other than that, he just seems to hate on Harden a bit

They change the narrative every year to favor whoever they want to win it.

I'm not arguing against KD last year, but Nash stole one of those MVPs because of that whole "Best team" argument that pops up every now and then.

Last year the narrative was that KD pulled OKC to a top 2 record with the injuries (again, mostly just Westbrook) his team suffered.

This year they are just throwing it out the window. True the Warriors have been great and are 10 games better than the Rockets...but this is with the Rockets starting 5 playing a total of 2 yes that's right 2 games together.

This is also a team that some of these people predicted to be out of the playoffs.

The Spurs have had the outright best record in the league 2 times in Duncan's career.

Wouldn't surprise me if big dollars are paid behind the scenes to 'influence' the narrative.

According to ESPN Forecast, the split for Curry and Harden is close to 80/20 in terms of who they think will win the MVP, and 60/32 on who should win the MVP. That seems about right to me. It makes sense that a sizeable chunk of Harden-for-MVP backers are still aware that Curry is the frontrunner.
