They don't hate it, they hate Iran. There was never any deal with Iran that would have pleased the Sunni states when they were in an open war with Shia militias.

Of course, they'll get foreign aid no matter how many of their people they kill, torture or imprison or how many "terrorists" they fund or how many houses they bulldoze so the point is moot as to what the Gulf states + Israel think or what America thinks of them.

I find it especially ironic that Israel's opinion holds merit on this topic: the nation only has nukes thanks to American violation of international norms, yet it still finds the time to sell American military secrets to China while parading as the "reliable ally". Given that the Mossad has been busy killing Iranian scientists if you thought any political resolution to the crisis would have pleased the current Israeli government, you'd be crazy.

This is so historic and incredible. Republicans clearly have to find themselves in a tough tough position. If they derail this deal it could kill them especially if Iran goes on to test a nuke. The country is tired of these wars and wars are not going to stop Iran which can build facilities in deep enough shelters.

More importantly, Obama has saved Israel despite Israel kicking and screaming like a spoiled baby.

This is a good summation explaining why this is an unexpectedly good outcome, but this call out phrase seems most relevant to this thread:

    heh.....

How many time have we heard... everything is on the table, except for a chance at real peace.

Unfortunately, that is how many conservatives view foreign policy.

Israel hates Iran because they want to create a boogyman for the U.S. to sympathize with Israel for some more money.

All those other countries that you mentioned 'hate' Iran because they are sunni and Iran is Shia.

    Not exactly the best reasons...

"Israel hates Iran" because some of the worst rhetoric ever spoken about destroying Israel comes from high-ranking figures in Iran's government. This is one bogeyman Israel did not create.

Any individual with common sense would realize that is empty rhetoric. Israel has a greater chance of starting a preemptive war with Iran than Iran starting a preemptive war with Israel.

It's basically the same logic that those who believe that peace with the Palestinians is an impossibility because of some 1980's Hamas charter follow.

The Hamas charter is still in effect, and Palestinians' recent statements and actions keep confirming the ideology behind it.

Well duh, obviously Iran wasn't going to attack Israel because they would have lost handily. But the verbal vitriol combined with Iran pursuing nuclear weapons gives Israel (and the entire world) justifiable reason to fear what could happen in the future.

    Hardly "empty rhetoric".

You mean the potential ally that is diametrically opposed to just about every interest and value the US has in the world?

We have nothing in common with the Iranian government. The Iranian people yes.

That alone should be enough for us to align ourselves with them. In time, the two governments will resonate if their people's have enough in common.

Iran just said two days ago that their desire and efforts to destroy Israel is "non-negotiable". They have reason to be worried.

so how are Iranians supposed to feel when American politicians and foreign policy heads constantly say "bomb Iran" as if they're discussing the Super Bowl rather than the eventual deaths of hundreds of thousands of people (most of them civilians if we're following the trend of American warfare).

"empty rhetoric"? or justifiable fear that America might get out of control (again) and start a preemptive war?
