this loss is good for Dallas according to ESPN's McMahon. because they played so well vs Rockets this season. hey goo news, we'd rather face the mavericks than spurs or clippers i guess ...

I would love to get the Mavs with our entire big man rotation healthy. Plus if it is 2 vs. 7 we don't have to worry about the Warriors till the Conference Final if we get that far.

We would need Jones, Smith and Brewer coming off the bench with energy, attacking the glass. Force Dirk to guard Dmo and wear his old legs down running the floor.

More importantly, as this game shows we need to make smart decision and focus on looking after the ball. Teams go on runs when he give them loose ball turnovers.

I don't blame them. It's either us or the Grizzlies, and the Grizzlies front line would abuse them.

Great comeback win by our Houston Rockets.

I'm so glad we didn't lose to the Dallas Mavwrecks.

Does anyone think Houston may have complained about Rondo's holds on Harden after the last game?

When Carlisle finally put Rondo on Harden, they were calling all of them.

Glad we won. Worried about free throws-- Dwight is our best FT-shooting big, for crying out loud. I don't know how we can win a playoff series without making a few free throws. Will Capela ever make a FT in the NBA? With five games left in the season, that's a horrible question to ask about your first-round draft pick. An emergency consultation with Rick Barry is in order.

I hear ya on the FT.

Why go to Barry when they have Calvin Murphy to consult with!

I'd be wary getting too giddy over the win. I think some chess was being played by Carlisle. Game obviously meant more to HOU than DAL and I think it makes sense when you look at the Mavs lineup to the end the game. Matchups be damned no way you are sitting Rondo or Chandler at the end of a close game when getting a rebound is killing you.
I dont think Carlisle wanted to show his hand too much.

My thinking is forcing the bigs to shoot granny-style would force them to focus on a form completely different from what had been so pitiful... It would also demonstrate their willingness to sacrifice their vanity for the good of the team. And it couldn't possibly be worse.

Why go to Barry or Calvin when they can go to the paulwtfk school of quick release free throws?

I think this is a really good point. This team has had to play with so many different lineups through the year, that it should be an advantage for us in the playoffs and make it easier to adjust to whatever the situation calls for.

    Exactly.

    Quick release + D12 running through the co-eds at U of H = Championship.

I would normally agree with that but why go to the Hack-a-" " if that's the case

I'm a little suspect after this win. I feel as though Carlisle intentionally had substitutions that didn't make all that sense.

I hope McHale and Morey don't take this team for granted come playoff time.

I didn't watch the game, but did the team do well because of halftime adjustments or because of Carlisle's rotation?

Another thing-- I've seen high school coaches do this with their bricking bigs: have them put their off hand behind their back and shoot completely one-handed. Forces them to concentrate on midline balance and soft touch.

Carlisle was running the "hack-a " while his team was ahead, LOL. Never seen that done before...and doubt we will ever see that again. Smith made him pay dearly.

McHale made halftime adjustments in coverage...and came out with a 7 to 0 run to start the third. Went small ball in the 4th and won that quarter by 31 to 18. So much for the clutchfans who hate McHale, LOL.

I don't buy the tanking theory for Dallas, not at all. They just could not adjust to the small ball line-up, even though they tried.

Certainly not a predictor of playoff success for the Rockets...but it was a sweet win, really sweet win.

You are the most flip-floppiest of Rockets fans. It's hilarious seeing you talking all kinds of mess when the Rockets are losing and then after they win, you praise them.
