Precisely. An individual award should not be based primarily on team success. The media is shameless.
People say she is on the show just b/c she is hot but I don't find he attractive at all. Just my opinion.
Holy ****. The Harden hate is strong in Skip. Harden's 51 wasn't good because it was the Kings and his mind goes to "don't you think he should have put up 55?" Are you freaking kidding me? Cousins played a monster game against sub par competition (Capela and Dorsey) but you don't see them discrediting Cousins Also, James Harden quite possibly had the most effiecent 50 point game of all time. I don't have time to research the comparable games but what he did was spectacular. 8 of 9 from 3..if he made those last two free throws he would have been perfect from ft (think that came after he turned his ankle or something) And the only players with substance debatable enough are Westbrook and Harden. Pulling numbers and stats to battle each other while Curry disappeared in that segment but they still give Curry co-MVP? That's just following the trend of others and not developing your own consensus. **** Skip
can somebody embed this amazing video for me... basically a compilation of the 4 mvp candidates chasing the mvp... pretty nice soundtrack as well( anybody know it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6Lv8ICH4Yw
Funny how no one talks about Kobe's competition for his 81 point game...if it were so easy to score 50+ on the Kings then there would be someone going off for 50 against them every night.
It's precisely because MVP is so subjective that the award won't go away. What fun is it to crown a "scoring" champ that's impossible to argue one way or another? Even Finals MVP barely gets any chatter because 90% of the time, it's obvious who the winner should be. Even when the Pistons or Celtics won the title, nobody cared about the FMVP. The regular season MVP gets way more hype and generates way more NBA attention. For that alone, you could say the MVP award contributes more to the NBA's bottom line than FMVP. If we were to simply do away with the MVP award or make strict criteria (player with highest PER), it would have negative consequences for the league and we can't have that.
And Dwyane Wade.

Dwyane Wade says if he voted for MVP right now it would be for James Harden.
