Three point happy. You can kinda predict where the shots were going to be up. They were falling so we had a 19 point lead. Then we got complacent and loose on the possessions and not rotating. This is really bad. McHale needs to get this team together.
That layup line masquerading as the second quarter was embarrassing. I wouldn't want to show my face anytime soon after a defensive collapse like that. The offense is looking kind of decent at least, although they fell in love with the quick jumper pretty hard there during that run.
One team has a red carpet to the basket. The other is allergic to anything inside the 3-point line.

Rockets had an 8-0 edge in paint points to begin this game. We'd get murdered by the Spurs and GSW, to be honest. Those teams have more balanced offense than we do. Look at how much off-ball movement and screens they run, too. Our offense is so stagnant. It's majority dump the ball in the post (if we're lucky enough to pass it well and not be a TO). Wait for the double team to come. Kick out and pass along the perimeter to the open three-point shooter. Absolutely no off-ball movement. The only way we break down defenses is inside out. We are way too easy to defend. Because of that, we will never make it far in the playoffs.

agreed. but what is worrying is that the Rockets have continuously given up big leads and don't seem to learn from past mistakes. Their offense seems to devolve into launching 3s and not continuing to execute their passing game...is that on the coaching staff? the players? What is troubling is we seem to repeat the same mistakes and the playoffs won't be as forgiving
I wanted Howard to play this game. No game is safe. The collapse is horrifying and quite honestly disgusting. Capela couldn't stop them, but he might have been able to do a better job than Dorsey or Smith on the boards and on defense, despite his terrible free throwing. James can't win this game all by himself.
Calvin: Rockets lost their intensity. They thought SAC would go away. Rockets allowed it. Rockets have to take this team seriously. First 3 minutes are important.
we better come out with smart passes and defense to start the second half... can't catch a break with this team
I think everyone needs to calm down. Still have the lead going into the half despite the poor second quarter. We need to pick it up on our hustle. No one is getting back after committing turnovers and they're getting wide open looks in the paint. Dorsey is simply not cutting it today, give the keys to Capela. See what he can do. Offense got stagnant. We started taking bad 3s again. That can't happen. We have to move the ball. PnR with Capela or Jones and swing until we get good looks. I like Prigioni and Capela tonight. They played well and we should use them more in the second half. Harden is having a great game, as well as Jones. I think Prigs, Harden, Ariza, Jones/Smith, Capela should be our lineup for majority of the half. Proposed Minutes for the 2nd: Prigs (15) Terry (6) Johnson(3) Harden (18) Brewer (6) Ariza (15) Brewer (9) Jones (13) Smith (11) Capela (13) Dorsey (11)
Lets go. Blow them out and be all similey about it. Keep itfriendly and have them lose some more next times.
I always remain mystified how we're so highly ranked defensively. We give up some pretty embarrassing performances on that end quite often.
