Cool. Nice depth move, and this allows us to move on from Martin and Posey. Now, if we can just sign Antonio Smith, that would put the cherry on top of this pretty damn good off-season. We can go into the draft not completely desperate for any one position (outside of #2 WR/KR).

I'm liking this offseason more and more. Nice depth at WR, really liking what BoB is doing with the roster.
Like the depth at WR, still expect them to use a 1st or 2nd on receiver and then draft another one after that depending on value. Of course, the other narrative that I've been considering is that perhaps the Texans are trying to fill out as many roster spots with veterans as possible so they can make a big trade up for a QB. Make a trade up to get Mariota, then draft Crowder in 4th or 5th to be your special teams guy. If they can add Antonio Smith and a depth type safety, they don't have a hole that they HAVE to fill in the first.
Crazy to me what O'Brien accomplished last year without overhauling the roster first. Really like this guy. (O'Brien)
I really like this Washington move. Cost peanuts, a year removed from having a top 20 WR type season, versatile, fast. We are really setting ourselves up to be able to go BPA in the 1st.
This gives us some flexibility with the draft. Before the Shorts and Washington signings, I would have said we needed to go WR in the first round. Now, maybe not. Secondary is a concern -- SS or CB could be logical choices. I wouldn't mind OL, either.

OLB is a need, but you are really looking for a guy who can play the opposite side of Mercilus/Clowney and just give you solid production. Don't need a star. S is a need for sure, but I think you can get a guy in the 2nd or 3rd. We really need depth on the offensive line badly. Also need an Arian replacement. Need playmaker at WR, and special team stars.
Stop toying with my emotions. I'd LOVE it if we went all-in for Mariota. However, I'm hard-pressed to believe that Tennessee would deal with us given that we're in their division. That's of course assuming that Tennessee doesn't take Mariota themselves with the 2nd pick.
Would they want Leonard Williams instead? I think they are still interested in developing Mettenburger.
Meh, I' m sure ESPN will rank this signing a C-. Gonna be great when all these C's wind up being an A when combined. Eat it ESPN!
The trade up scenario is dependent on mariota falling to the Redskins pick. I can't see trading up to two. If he falls to five then the Texans can and should strongly consider moving up
