With his hops he should throw an alley to himself off the backboard.

His motor is much much higher than Stromile Swifts IMO. I was listening to Toronto announcers on NBAtv and they were saying Capela was an absolute steal as a #25 pick last year. I've learned a little something watching Jones and DMO over the past few years in that patience works when it comes to developing big men.
You can't teach 6'11 and athleticism and highly likely he's in the rotation next season while saving the rockets cap space on a backup 5.

As Bullard said last night, a total basketball truthiness, "You can't teach height, but you can work on free throws". Nuff said. hello Little Helicopter.

And he's going to have Hakeem, McHale and DMo mentoring him.

D Mo and TJ were good in their first few games but they were not as explosive as Capela today. This kid surely has bright future.

You can't really say that. It depends on how bad he wants it. If there was ever a raw bigman who needed a team that could teach fundamental post moves, it's the ROCKETS. He has Dream, Mchale & old school CD. Even Dorsey has a nice dropstep now. Capela needs to work with Dream all summer this offseason

just wanna say very impressive performance against the raps last night, i hope this kid can develop some more offensive skills other than dunks, at least make 70% fts, then he will definitely be a capable backup for years to come

Yep, you're grooming him to take over when Howard is done. He should be good for 15 night soon so we can limit Howard's minutes.

I think we cabin agree that he is better than Joey Dorsey in the limited minutes they both receive. Joey offers no rim protection or rebounding to the level of Eastwood

I disagree, Dorsey is still preferred in the playoffs due to his defensive experience and having some semblance of an offense outside of alley-oop/PnR dunks

Haha, well, I didn't mean it to sound like I'm saying DMo is equal to those HOFers. Just saying, DMo's post moves are ELITE. He can definitely teach Capela a thing or two.

Amazing how all of a sudden Clint gets his buckets and plays well when the line up isn't:

    Johnson
    Daniels
    Pap
    Capela
    Dorsey

Imagine that? Somehow alley oops from Harden, PnR's with Prigs are slightly better than fastbreak helter skelter feeds from Daniels.

Oh and his d-league FT%? (same FT line distance)
    102 of 171, 60%
So his NBA FT% will get better once he calms down at the FT line.

I'm feeling some dunks, maybe a nice post up move, 1/4 from the free throw line , going with 7 points today.
