Plenty of times this year Bev has been destroyed by opposing PGs. His D has slipped a lot

People on this board are underestimating the value of having two 37 year olds who are veterans of this league and the game of basketball. When the playoffs start people will start to see what JT and Prigs bring to us as a championship contending team.

    Jason Terry:
    NBA champion
NBA Sixth Man of the Year
    NBA All-Rookie Second Team
    NCAA champion
    Consensus first-team All-American
    Pac-10 Player of the Year
    First-team All-Pac-10

He has been a great ball player through out his career and brings valuable leadership and wisdom to our young core who still need to understand championship level basketball in the NBA.

    Pablo Prigioni
    Spanish Prince's Cup Champion: (2002)
Led the Spanish League in steals: (2003)
    3x Spanish King's Cup Champion: (2004, 2006, 2009)
    4x Spanish Supercup Champion: (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)
    Spanish King's Cup MVP: (2006)
    2x All-Euroleague 2nd Team: (2006, 2007)
Led the Euroleague in assists: (2006)
    3x All-ACB Team: (2006, 2007, 2009)
    Spanish League Champion: (2008)
    Spanish Supercup MVP: (2008)

    Argentine national team
    2003 FIBA Americas Championship: Silver
    2003 South American Championship: Silver
    2004 South American Championship: Gold
    2007 FIBA Americas Championship: Silver
2008 FIBA Diamond Ball Tournament: Gold
    2008 Summer Olympic Games: Bronze
    2009 FIBA Americas Championship: Bronze
    2011 FIBA Americas Championship: Gold

He has been playing pro ball since, 95 he has very valuable game experience in the game of basketball and knows what winning is even if its Pro Ball in Spain, and on the national level. Entering the league at 35 years old and still being in at 37 is amazing when you think about it, he knows the game of basketball and knows leadership, he can help guide the team when the offense is stagnant, and is slept on defense IMO.

any imminent free agent PG signing which is eligible for playoffs? we've got very old starter and backup...we need a younger 3rd Pg in order to be ready for any injuries again...plus Nick Johnson is a SG.

It's time for NICK FURY JOHNSON to step up and be the defense killer he is!

Ps: Hope you recover soon Bev, you will be missed.

If there's one starter we can afford to lose without affecting our playoff chances much, it's definitely Patrick Beverley.

I mean I love the guy's energy on some nights, but he's just not that good as far as NBA starting PGs go, if we're being honest.

Hell if we still had Isaiah Canaan, I might be tempted to say that we're actually *better* without Pat in spite of McHale's love affair with him. But... I'll try to minimize how much I crap on the guy while he's down.

But yeah, I feel bad for Pat and hope he gets well soon, but I don't see this as a big loss as far as the team is concerned. This isn't an excuse to underperform in the playoffs.

I don't know of anyone who could step in and help the Rockets at the PG position that is not already on a roster. IMO the Rockets will be rolling with Jason Terry, Pablo Prigioni and Nick Johnson.

Canaan doesn't play defense. It's not that he plays it badly, it's that he doesn't.

No matter how good a player is at offense, a defensive hole in the wall is tough to overcome at playoff time.

Exactly. In fact, this will be even better as it let's Harden play his natural position as a s/PG.

    Where?

Sorry to hear about Patman. Best of luck to him. His D results in critical fouls in close games. His d has regressed. His shooting is super streaky.

I have no problem seeing lots of minutes of Harden, Ariza, Brewer, Smith and Dwight

first of all i would like to thank Patrick Beverley for helping the Rox become a second seed in the extremely tough western conference despite all of the injuries he and the rox have faced throughout the season with new vets jets & young players that have been integrated into the lineups. He was All Defensive last year and proved on the grand stage that he is one of if not the most skilled pg in the NBA. Keep in mind he has deferred his game to the MVP MBP and rightfully so. I respect that. he will get a nice contact and hopefully with rox.
