Why are we so bad at FT's? I've noticed this in many games.....our FT % is turrrible.

get prepared to be pissed off...McHale refused to play him during a critical stretch in a game where we were missing 5 regular players AND Capella was rebounding and defending great... I"ll be surprised if he sniffs any more playing time this year.

I feel like McHale was gonna win or lose the game with his small lineup no matter what. Just pig-headed

McHale's inability to make simple defensive adjustments to avoid guys going absurd on them is easily his most maddening quality for me.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but whenever I see guys doing whatever they want, I feel like doing something different would help.

With no big to protect the pain? Where is the double coming from? Easy to say and if they do it and allow a wide open 3 or a layup you will be blaming the coach.

Tough shoot well defended a shoot that should have never happen if they corrected call the time out.

McHale will adjust. Just give him 2(+) games or so. :)

Nobody else wants to point out how poor Terry is as a PG? From watching his play, nobody else passes as poorly into TOs or deflections as he does. Actually, Bev is probably as bad. This team desperately needs a secondary ball handler as Harden can't do it all.

Thankfully, Prigioni is a good ball handler but nobody respects his shot. Still, I'd rather have Prigioni to close out games than Terry. Defenders will trap or double Harden in clutch time. Once that happens, our players make bone headed passes and we have terrible possessions.

That's why Houston is a really bad team defensibly right?

Lol I think you are mistaking McHale for Rick Carlisle.

Being a good defensive team has nothing to do with failing to make necessary adjustments when they are called for.

    Oh definitely.

Props on Morey for finally drafting a long lean big that is athletic.

Has the kid played Soccer before basketball? If so, get him work with Hakeem NOW!

I believe it's because our entire frontline, has never learnt how to make them, or put any real effort in getting better at it, mentally or technically. It's no small wonder that they fail repeatedly in game situations.

Terry is always a SG, but the team needs him to play PG some time

    Hum ok?

So you made all the adjustment and you defense is garbage but you are a good coach defensibly? I'm sorry I can't follow your logic?

What was the problem with our defensive adjustment?

Yep, it's all about matchups. McHale is really bad at it. Other coaches make mistakes too, but the smarter ones make correct adjustments quickly.

The problem with the adjustment is that there was no adjustment.

Right. He's purely a catch and shoot player. The problem is, our team has enough of them hanging out at the 3-point line. Brewer makes Terry redundant as a SG, but offers more since he can drive and score.

The bigger problem IMO is that Terry has always been the backup PG this season. He really should be backing up Harden, but has always been the back up PG no matter what. Only time Canaan or Prigs played this season is when Beverly or Terry gets hurt.

It puzzles my mind how the coaches could watch Terry play PG and continue to play him there.

Call against Nick was bad, but we got our share calls.

At worst, tonight's officiating was even.
At best, it severely favored Houston.
On average, calls favored the Rockets overall.

It is fascinating how our entire 4/5 combo can't shoot FTs. If you include Joey "WOAT FTer in NBA history" Dorsey and Clint "0-fer FT" Capella, we are 0-6 in bigs who can shoot FTs. Thank God DMO can at least shoot 3s. The FT knock is pretty much the only one. Our BIG combination is beastly overall.

Tough loss, but hope isn't lost.

    Get healthy Rockets! !

If you for one second compare what Popovich does or doesn't do, in the same breath as McHale - son it's time to give up basketball because you clearly understand none of it.
