If Westbrook wins scoring title by .1 ppg but Harden did it throughout the full season I'll be pissed.

Best player in the NBA right now: Harden / Westbrook
Best player on best team: Curry

That's all there is to it, how will they vote, it's up to them.

The 2-seed race is a huge, huge factor. It will be much easier to shake off the "best team" argument as the second seed than the third in the minds of voters - even if the win totals are exactly the same and it's just Memphis choking that gets us there.

It shouldn't be that way, but it will be. I'd add an extra 10-15% to Harden's MVP chances with that second seed in hand - without it I would put money on Curry since it's looking like 68 wins for him.

I'm not counting on Harden winning, I just don't trust the voters.

So many people go for the "best team" argument that it's unfair to those who carry their teams, you know, the players who are actually valuable to their teams.

It would be great if he won it, but Curry is such a little princess in the eyes of so many that the voters will give it to him just to make the majority happy. It's fine though, the only difference between an MVP award and an MVP season is a few mediaheads opinions. Opinions just as educated as any of ours, and sometimes less.

It would be that way, GSW will have finished around 10 or so games ahead of the 2nd seed. If that 2nd seed is us one could aruge that we'd have a few more wins.

There were definitely some games we lost IMO because of having no size. The Utah game and the first Detroit game come to mind.

Harden is an amazing player. Arguably the best player in the sport this season. Absolutely a deserving MVP candidate based on his performance this year with a hobbled roster in a beast of a conference.

But the way some of you guys talk about Steph Curry is an absolute joke. Just cringeworthy.

I get that he's absolutely more of a media darling than Harden. That's 100% true and it's annoying. It annoys me too.

But Steph Curry is an absolutely dominant player in this league and you could definitely argue that he's a better individual player than Harden. I'm not saying that he's absolutely better than Harden, but it's absolutely arguable.

He's just a far better and more consistent shooter than Harden. That's his big edge over Harden, Westbrook, LeBron, and pretty much everyone else. He's one of the GOAT shooters this league has ever seen and he has no weak spots on the floor. He's a surprisingly crafty finisher in the paint as well. And he combines his historic shooting with unreal passing/ball-handling. He's an offensive juggernaut.

Sure Curry has more help than Harden. But Curry's carried a stronger cast to stronger results, historic results even. So I don't get how he should be punished for carrying a stronger team than Harden. I love James. He is an unbelievable player and I hope he has a killer playoff run this year. But my MVP as of today is Steph Curry, although Harden is still within striking distance.

that is your opinion. but mine is that harden has had, and is a marginally better player then curry. i also believe that most of the posters here think the same way. which is harden is just a bit better, but not a ton better which it seems your trying to imply.

I'm saying it's arguable as to who is the better player. That whole post was more pro-Curry than anti-Harden. Harden is the man, I don't want to sound like some hater.

I've just seen too many "Harden is clearly the better player, Curry just plays on the better team" type of posts around here.

Harden vs. Curry is a toss-up imo. Both guys have their own advantages over the other guy. I'd honestly go with Curry being a hair better than Harden because of the shooting but it's basically a dead heat for me.

I would love to see Curry try to carry a team with average talent and coaching the way Westbrook and Harden have. I don't think he could do it

You know what? I don't think he could do it as well either. I think Harden and Westbrook both have better one-man-band potential.

But I don't think Harden or Westbrook could orchestrate a dominant offense as well as Curry can. His shooting opens up the floor so much and provides so many options to his team. I think Harden can do a better job than Russ in this area though imo.

I'm all for James winning, but I really hope he doesn't rely on the whistle to get himself going in the playoffs. I hope James and Morey know this and hope that James is ready to turn it up a notch.

I'm tired of hearing people say how he won't show up in the postseason.

People trying to b**** about Curry's numbers but they're JUST AS GOOD as Hardens while playing hell of alot less minutes and less usage rate. Curry is leading his Warriors to becoming one of the greatest regular season team ever. Harden made his team stay at the same level as last year but Curry made his team legit title contenders and on pace with other all time great teams. Plus Harden's MVP numbers ain't even that great in comparison to previous winners. He's gonna lose the scoring title, plus Curry already broke most 3's made in a month. He's also on pace to break his own record for most 3's in a season. Curry MVP.

    Lol at the homers here

You guys say McHale is COY ahead of Kerr given what he has done given all the injuries and then turn around and say give Harden Kerr as a coach instead of McHale

IMO Harden deserves MVP given he is carrying the Rockets and the liability that is McHale. Dude single handedly makes McHale look good

Curry's numbers aren't as good as Curry's numbers last year while playing less minutes. He's the reason they were good for the last 3 years, he isn't the reason they're better than last year.

Who has more 40 pt games between Curry and Harden?

Who has more 40 pt games between Curry and Klay?

If you had an open draft amongst all NBA players, where would Curry go? Ahead of CP3, Harden, Davis, Westbrook and Lebron?

He's a better Ray Allen, but far from the engine that makes that team go. They're a better version of the Hawks. Best "team" in the league with two legit All Stars.
