I hope he does not force himself back to the detriment of the team or himself Some guys worry of missing/losing their starting spot or next contract Rocket River
I don't follow college bb so I hope someone can shed some light on possible PG's in the 14th range of the draft.
How can he say that with the next follow up exam on Beverley's wrist will not be till this coming Friday. I am hoping for the best and Beverley is able to come back the last two games of the season, IF not the playoffs.
If I'm not mistaken, the Rockets have his bird rights. What's the max they can offer him? Personally, I hope they let him walk. He's not the answer as a starter and he's gonna want too much money for a backup(plus he'll wanna start wherever he does sign). e Use the NOP pick to draft a guard or put together a package(presumably including that pick) to land one in a trade.
Bev would be a great backup. If this team signed Kyle Lowry in the offseason, we would have won 60 games this year. Keeping Lowry would have netted us Parsons(I would rather have Lowry and Ariza for the record if it were possible), and we still would have signed Smith and Brewer. So close. Still think this team has a chance if Dwight can play 30 minutes of elite rim protection and Harden can get his shot back.
This came into my mind earlier. If he can't come back, I truly believe Bev has played his last game as a Rocket. He played with a lot of heart no doubt but he really regressed this year to the point where he didn't even deserve to be a backup on a contending team. The nail in Bev's coffin as a Rocket is that his defense has slid along with not hitting his open shots consistently. If he doesn't improve his game, I don't see him sticking in the league that long.
He digressed, but his defenese is still better than any other PG on our team. If anything i would want him back in just to play defense. Not even to shoot the ball.
If Nick Johnson keeps playing defense like that and can hit free throws in a joint effort via Terry/Prigs/Brewer at point guard when Harden isn't the guy pushing the ball up court I think we'll be fine at that position...possibly better with less turnovers, more open layups made and less dribbling in the paint for no reason
All in all I don't think this will be that big of a loss. It's not like his D was on point like last year. Losing Dmo or Jones would hurt a lot more. Plus I like Terry with Harden better due to shooting
They seem to be playing with better ball movement and less missed layups not having Beverly right now. Would love to see Bev come off the bench. He'd be much more dangerous that way.
