    From the Rockets Facebook page:

Kevin McHale, James Harden & Dwight Howard lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

    They are visiting the DoD.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The <a href="https://twitter.com/NBA">@NBA</a>'s <a href="https://twitter.com/HoustonRockets">@HoustonRockets</a> arrive at the Pentagon. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/CommittmentToService?src=hash">#CommittmentToService</a> <a href="https://t.co/Y4fQXRqccR">https://t.co/Y4fQXRqccR</a></p>&mdash; U.S. Dept of Defense (@DeptofDefense) <a href="https://twitter.com/DeptofDefense/status/581922815118557184">March 28, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

    Getting some advice on defense?

You know, at first I thought that was tacky- but actually, that's pretty funny, man. Props.

I know I'm going to get shot down for this but posting pics of them paying their respects just feels like a PR exercise. Credit for Harden, Howard and McHale for doing it but it would mean that much more if they did it without any fanfare or have it publicized via the media. By the way, I'm sure the trio didn't do it for attention and were obviously genuine about it.

    That's great they did that.

I've visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is an extremely sobering, solemn place and the guards and their traditions that honor our unknown fallen are just so extraordinary to witness. If you ever get to Arlington, it's something not to be missed.

It's a team-bonding activity. And a way to give respect to the fighting men and women.

For the playoff run, I'm sure it provides a powerful visual lesson on the value of sacrifice, dedication, discipline, teamwork, and having a goal worth fighting for.

    Makes my day.

I get so sick of so called "fans" on here always b****ing and moaning about our team, McHale, and DM and anything else they can think of.

Seeing that picture, makes it worthwhile to wade through all the crap posted on here.

    My sincere thanks.

I'm sure they do a lot of things that don't get publicized (e.g. visiting the Walter Reed hospital, etc.). At the same time, they are role models, whether they like it or not, and considering all the bad **** we hear about athletes (Ray Rice, etc.), I'm 100% for them publicizing it. Cynicism is not always your friend.
