Wanted to ask a general question, why don't people use reliable sources for threads in the D&D? I'm not going to read your biased articles, so don't even try.

It wasn't an attack on you personally. There are a lot of posters who put articles on here from crappy sources, and I'm just saying I won't read them.

One problem is that there are far too many who, like you, consider certain sources too biased to take seriously. I have a similar bias, but against a particular medium (television "news") as opposed to a particular source.

Accurate information is accurate whether it comes from Breitbart or HuffPo. My bias against television "news" exists because the written word provides more latitude to fact check claims while television throws so much at you (much of it without sourcing or attribution) that it would take a Herculean effort to fact check all of the claims made in a single day. Fact checking a written article, by contrast, can usually be done relatively easily.

An opinion piece? From the Washington Post? If you say so.

Opinion is the definition of bias, no? It's weird that you think Charles Krauthammer is a credible, unbiased source. I don't think anyone would really claim that Krauthammer has anything but subjective opinions on politics. It would be like someone posting a Paul Krugman editorial. Even if his opinions were grounded in facts, the manner in which he selects his facts and draws his conclusions are subjective. That's the battle of media in the 21st century.

There are people who post articles that never actually read the article they just posted. I'd say that 90% of the people commenting on articles, news events and such have done nothing more than read the Twitter headline. Case in point: anything about climate change.

It wasn't a personal attack - I don't have anything against you. I think I made it clear that I was asking a general question.

You're grasping at straws here. Part of what the D&D entails is opinions. Krauthammer gave his opinion/analysis on where the GOP candidates stand right now. His opinions are generally thought out carefully and represent his lengthy time in politics. I thought it was a relevant piece.

My problem is people posting articles claiming that autism is caused by vaccines or the government is out to get every gun owner, which usually come from sources like Alex Jones or angry bloggers. My main problem with the articles is subject-based, I guess. I think it helps also if articles come from major newspapers that actually edit and fact-check their material, but I realize there are exceptions.

Do you have any specific threads or posts, or is this speculation?

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word bias but okay.

I do have some in mind, but at this point, I don't really want to bother with this.

Ever since the Houston Post retired, we haven't had a reliable source of non biased news in America.
