I watched Dwight totally work over Lopez - it was great to see - but three observations

    1) it totally took the rest of the team out of the flow of the offense and when Howard sat, they fell apart

    2) it allowed Portland a chance to gather and recover on defense while the Rockets were scrambling to cover the high-tempo free-flowing Portland offense on the other end, showed towards the end of the game when fatigue set in

    3) Dwight is averaging around 0.7 points per possession on post-ups this year, which is near the bottom of the league

Not an indictment on Dwight but I think the game has moved away from inside-out basketball and it's really not as effective as it once was

This is an indictment on Dwight. And it's true. But the game hasn't moved away from inside-out basketball. Simply...the inside-out talent hasn't been there. Dwight is a poor post-up player...period. He's got to be iso'd to be effective.

In a few months, you're gonna see Jahlil Okafor come into the league and force double teams to come from the defense.

You simply have to have the talent to play inside-out. Okafor has that talent. Dwight doesn't.

I don't think anyone has consistently had the talent to play inside-out since 2009 Dwight, to be honest. I'd be surprised if Okafor could equal that.

Okafor is the best post-up big man to enter this league since Shaq.

I understand why you say Okafor, but please do not forget Tim Duncan.

    Strongly disagree...

    - Tim Duncan
    - Al Jefferson
    - DeMarcus Cousins

    * According to some, D-Mo, though I highly disagree.

i did a few pulls on the espn lottery generator thing. and the last time it came up with the rockets losing their pick and the pelicans getting the 3rd and drafting okafor.

that was too scary and i closed the window.

In that scenario, would the Rockets get the Pelicans 2016 1st round draft pick?

yeah i think it goes for another 2-3 years and has to fall between 4-19 if not it turns into 2 second round picks.

the part i was really worried about was okafor teaming up with that other pretty good PF they have.

Okafor has a better post-up back-to-the-basket game than any of them when they came into the league.

I'm not saying Okafor is going to surpass Duncan's career. Not saying he's a better player. I'm saying he's the best post-up player to enter the league since Shaq.

"Rockets forward Terrence Jones, showing significant progress in coming back from last week’s partially collapsed lung, on Friday rode a stationary bicycle for the first time since the injury, a person with knowledge of his condition said.

If Jones continues to improve as expected, he could be ready to begin on-court workouts when the Rockets return from their road trip next Tuesday. But with the Rockets beginning a stretch of four games in five nights on Sunday, they do not have a practice scheduled until April 4."

Having him back should expand our big man rotation. Allowing us to limit Dwight,Josh and Dmo's minutes on those back to backs. Perfect Timing.
