I guess this thread is gonna get bumped every game one way or the other.

He was really doing an excellent job on the PnR with Harden today. He was also on point with that perimeter defense. I still think he is a better fit with Dwight than Jones.

Nowitzki? He never posted up. And he's a bad defender.

Need someone who is really good on the post and mobile on defense.

not surprised his rebound numbers went up now that he is back to being the PF. He also boxed out Davis and other guys he was guarding to let his teammates get the rebound. I think he did a great job --stoked to see him play more off of Dwight in the coming weeks!

He has also established himself as a 3 point threat so that will help keep defenses honest against the Rockets with him and Dwight in the game

He is definitely better fit with Dwight than Jones. The question is, is he better fit with Dwight than Jones is with Dwight? Both DMo and Jones play better with Dwight than with each other.

DMo been starting most of the year, no reason to change it.

I think I only saw Dwight attempt a post up once... And he passed out of it. That's a good sign for DMO. He provided offense when it started to stagnate. I think he still struggles with rushing shots when he's playing against players withheld length but I'll take 10-16 any night. Plus he grabbed 8 boards.

The majority of his rebounds came when Dwight was on the bench. Him playing PF had nothing to do with that especially when The Pelicans had two 7 footers in for at least 85% of the time.

The way DMo played today - alongside super man, he was very, very good. DMo's bbiq is awesome, sneaky moves, solid defense, nice passes, solid three point shot -that's an all package. Of course, depending on match-ups and game flow many adjustments could be made.

Its mental with Dmo. He played with a lot more confidence tonight with Dwight being back out there. But even when Dwight wasn't out on the floor, Dmo was more of a presence tonight and on the boards. He has to have this type of mentality at all times to make that next step in this league.

Wasn't there a debate going on a few days ago saying the stats were flawed because Davis isn't near the top? Well maybe, Davis isn't that great at consistently protecting the rim yet.

The Pelicans give up a hell of a lot of points in the paint even with Asik and Davis. That is a significant point to understand.

Whatever the case may be I feel like we do have a bit more insight into why the stats portray Davis in such a way. Let's face it, none of us probably watch Pelicans games regularly.

Well, he has only been starting because Jones has been injured.

The reason to go back to Jones would be because he is a more effective big than DMo.

Although, now that Jones is out for awhile again, I don't see him starting anymore.

    Jones-DMo is this year's Lin-Harden on-court pairing...

Eventually we have to decide on one of these guys. They are not going to enjoy playing behind the other when they can make money and start elsewhere.

Personally I think I'd go with Dmo, he's just as young and has a post game, has a 3 point shot. He just needs to get mentally tougher and more confident. That can come with age.

Jones will never have the post game Dmo has and Dmo's 3 point shot will get better with age. His potential (Dmo) IMO is still sky high.

I am very happy that D-Mo had a solid all round game against a very good front court.
He had struggled a lot against Davis earlier in the season.

All publicly available defensive stats are "pretty terrible", according to Daryl Morey.

James and Dmo pick and roll was way better tonight than it has been for most of the season. Hopefully starting a trend.
