I wonder if tenure is a variable when they came up with these percentages...

were they originally picks for the probowl or replacements because they didn't make it into the postseason?

Exactly. Wasn't Matt Schaub in the Pro Bowl one year after like 8 QBs backed out?? I'm not taking anything away there, but it's obviously a bit of a skewed statistic.

I don't think it really matters whether or not the Texans players made the probowl bc someone else backed out. Fact of the matter is that all teams have those types of players and they're all being held to the same standard in that statistic. The Texans numbers arent skewed more than any other team.

Schaub wasn't drafted by the Texans and thus wouldn't have counted for Smith in that statistic.

It would be interesting to add three more columns to this chart... playoff appearances, playoff wins, and overall W-L. Perhaps show a correlation between PB players and success?

Yeah, every other guy on that list has won a Super Bowl if i'm not mistaken. But it is surprising to see Rick up there.

Not that it really matters but this must include both.

Watt, Cushing, and Casey are the only Texan probowlers drafted by Rick, Foster and Arian as well if you include undrafted FAs.

    Duane Brown.

James Casey hasn't made a pro bowl.

And yes it includes players no longer with the team. If the statistic is a measure of identifying talent in the draft, I'm not sure why that matters. He still drafted a player talented enough to make the pro bowl.

    Glover Quin
    Connor Barwin
Jacoby Jones (yes, he made a pro bowl)

They must be sold on Mariota if they are saying contenders now and "rookie QB".

Mallet, two first going to get it done?

I didn't understand the multiple QB's in FA nor the Wilfork signing unless they were going for it now.

Whatever happened with those Kaepernick rumors Braddock was making?

I think what he's trying to say is the qb competition we have this year isn't to find our franchise guy, its to find our placeholder and that Obrien is keeping the spot fluid for Christian Hakenberg to be the franchise when he comes out next year

Think he meant to tweet, "IMO, there are 3 options that could be on the table for Houston & Mallett / Hoyer isn't option 1. Mariota / Hackenberg in play with current QBs"

    3 Options (in some order):
    - Mariota
    - Hackenberg
    - Mallett/Hoyer

I figured it was something like that, but who in their right minds thinks Marriott is a viable option? That's insane talk right there. If we get Mariota, I will gladly change my sig to say something like, "I know absolutely nothing about football." forever.

Yeah I don't see how Mariota is the realistic option when it doesn't seem very realistic that we would trade up to get him or he slips down to us.
