Its all part of the plan. Cruz is gonna pander to the extreme right wing base, raise boat loads of money and then he's gonna say something stupid...er and flame out in glorious fashion. Thus his campaign money will be funneled to the moderate republican candidate who was primed all along to run against the democrat. History shows republicans will never nominate someone on par with cruz's jackassery, hell he's hated by many of his republican colleagues.
The reaction of laughing and being glad that he's doing this, and hoping that he wins? That's what fear looks like to you?
Cruz will go the way of Rick Perry in a similar embarrassing fashion. These Republicans are good for a few sound bites and pandering to the fringes but they have no substance. I would like to be proven wrong, but Republicans have nosed dived since the new millennium.

Cruz is waaaaaaay smarter than Perry. Perry is an idiot who I've never liked, although it's hard to argue with his track record in Texas. Cruz is one of the smartest guys in Washington. His intellect blows Obama's out of the water. You can disagree with his policies and positions, but there's no denying Cruz is legitimately smart.
Wow, I actually agree with bigtexxx on something. I do fear Cruz because I think he's a highly intelligent, highly competent politician whose goals are diametrically opposed to mine. He strikes me as very smart, very ambitious and aggressive, with a high motor. He is like Obama in this way. There's money and allegiances and demographics, etc in play in a presidential election that may keep him from winning, but as to who is most effective at politicking I think Cruz is better than everyone in the field. The only problem is I think he's a bad person. So I do worry he'll win -- not the candidacy but the presidency. I'll be seriously surprised if the Democrat wins this one (against Cruz or any other competent Republican candidate).

hahahaha. Ted Cruz couldn't beat the democratic nominee if it were Al Sharpton. There's an inherent tendency for those of you that are based in Texas to vastly overestimate the viability of Texas candidates once they leave the friendly confines of the Lone Star state. Many on this board, (regardless of political alignment) were convinced - that Rick Perry was not only going to be a huge player in 2012, but that he would have completely smooth sailing ot the nomination. Instead the reality was entirely different - he flamed out spectacularly in a race where even dilettantes & retreads like Michelle Bachman, Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain (HERMAN CAIN!...lol) notched big wins. The compliant local media, the more or less dysfunctional opposition, and the red meat nutjobs in Texas create a false sense of security, that the rest of you tend to buy into. These same factors aren't present in the national scale on teh same way - the red meat nutjobs are Paulists, the opposition is better organized and funded, and the media is a lot more critical. And somebody who is exceedingly bad at building coalitions, like Cruz who more or less is toxic even within his own party, is even more subject to this. HOWEVER I WISH HIM WELL AND WANT HIM TO REMAIN IN THE RACE
do you think bush followed the law? i for one would love to see ted cruz stick it out as long as possible...there is no way he gets the nomination, but he is going to force all those other republicans to swing even further to the right than they already are to win over the religious extremists who hijacked the party...by the time the general election comes around they will not be able to walk it back to a more centrist position.
I get his point but he's also wrong. He will have the option to continue the current plan they are on through cobra or they could purchase an individual plan without going on the exchange. But, there is nothing wrong with buying in exchange.
Personally, I don't understand why they don't nominate Comcast for president. Corporations are people too my friend. Nobody better embodies the Republican mindset than Comcast in their business practices. Plus, Comcast is rich as f***.
