What exactly does that mean? No sacred cows? No untouchables? Because the only untouchable the Texans have is Watt.
I read that as "I have no sources or actual information, but rather than admit that I'll give the most general, non-committal answer possible while still sounding exciting!"
Dent is really good on special teams, so I think this was a move specific to special teams. Man I would love to see McClain here, Spikes inability to drop into coverage is probably why he's still a free agent, he's solid against the run but tight ends make him look foolish with uncomfortable consistency
It's designed to help teams meet the floor (4 year average). They can roll the cap savings every year until they have to spend extra money to hit the floor. They can dole out bonuses, etc. to do it. It's not progressive, it's actually regressive against the players.

That wasn't meant as social commentary. If you're gonna glean anything from it, it's that phone companies suck.

According to the latest depth chart (hasn't been updated this off-season), yes. http://www.houstontexans.com/team/depth-chart.html
I'll take the Dent re-signing more as a 1 year stop gap next to Cushing. You've got a bunch of bodies at LB but no real stand outs. Dent seemed to be the more reliable of the group. Probably acquire an ILB via the draft, bring him along for the year and then slide him in as the every day starter year 2. Unless he's a beast right out of the gate, which you would like even more. Deal isn't bad either, pretty much all guarantees are for year 1, with no ill effects on the future cap holds.

Dont think even Andre had anything against OB. Always said good things about him. If youre talking about them asking Dre for a reduced role, I think all that was brought up to save face for the Texans. He would be making way too much for a reduced role. And who were they going to reduce his role for? Cecil Shorts? lol
BOB is 11th best head coach in the NFl according to CBSSports: 11. Bill O’Brien, Houston Texans — Surprised to see him this high? He did an amazing job in his first season in 2014. I thought the Texans would win two or three games. He got them to nine victories and nearly had them in the playoffs. He has the feel of a really good coach. I think he will be higher on this list in the coming years. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/pete-prisco/25121986/ranking-the-nfl-coaches-1-32-belichick-on-top-of-course
