Black Sails has been surprisingly good this season. I still consider it a guilty pleasure, but I'm going to keep watching as long as it remains solid.
Another solid episode. Opening scene with James and Hamlin was amazing with the silence and copy machine drone. Interesting how the show is building up in that we know the final result, just trying to figure out where it all goes awry and how much Kim and his brother have to do with it.
Can someone fill me in.. I don't understand the part with the syringe document. It shows something about them buying syringes from Nebraska.. how is this a "smoking gun"??
The RICO law makes it a federal crime to participate in organized criminal activity. In this case, mail fraud by mailing statements that overcharged.
What if Mike gets hired by the criminals running Sandpiper, and his job is to take out Jimmy and Chuck? No drama of course on Jimmy- we know he won't die. Or that somehow the case gets turned over to Hamlin's firm b/c,I don't know, somehow the fact that they used Chuck's code to print case documents means that it is somehow Hamlins' case? Hmm..
I learned from the X Files and Breaking Bad that I'm usually wrong about my predictions. So far, I predicted: 1. Skyler was going to be killed. 2. Mike was going to escape. 3. Walt was going to use the machine gun on Gretchen and Elliott. The only one I got right was Gomie's fate. On the X Files, I predicted Mulder would die.
To add to this, it's also because the invoices/syringes purchased making up the fraud crossed state lines. Not saying you're wrong just adding in state line part, I think it'd be easier to get away with the fraud if localized to New Mexico, instead now they have proof on invoice from Nebraska, making it easier to go after RICO law. I believe this to be the case anyway (not trying to argue or something). just love the show!
****ing love this show. It's going to suck when the last 2 episodes are done. When's Ray Donovan season 3 and True detective season 2 coming out?
Haha, great theories on Saul, and I know exactly what you meant on BrBa, that show was so wild at the end, not easy to predict. I think for sure Hamlin printer thing will come back to bite Jimmy, probably lose out on a lot of the settlement since this isn't a pro bono case, and I think the Mike thing will eventually lead him to getting involved with Gus. Not sure if this season or next but I'm thinking he'll have a recurring role eventually. I'm pretty sure I read something prior about Gus eventually being in the picture (this was way before though).
Me too man, love this show!! Definitely looking forward to True Detective... As for Ray Donovan, is it similar crime drama? I'll have to look into it. Haha, already wondering how to pass the time once season is over on Saul... Such an awesome show.
The fun thing about Gus is that he has a backstory we can all get on board with. He's only a villain to Jessie/Walt, not anyone else. Gus is fighting the good fight (kind of...) against the cartel.
