Man...Alexandria sucks!!! I hope this is not the group's final destination! Either take the place over already and teach those folks to grow some balls or, in the words of Metallica, KILL EM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, ignoring the large number of Zombies killed... it was designed to set up what will certainly be a huge 90-minute season end. At some point one of the main characters will be snuffed... since I think Rick, Darryl, Carol, Glenn, and Michonne are core to the group and show, I am guessing either Maggie or Carl get it (the rest of the characters are too dispensable to make one of them the "shocking loss"). Maggie hasn't been on much lately... but Carl showed up on the Talking Dead death couch... so is he on the clock?
I doubt Carl gets it Maggie Maybe but Glenn is still reeling from watching Noah Die Carol is probably who it should be but won't be I dunno . . . . Rocket River
How did it not progress? It gave what Gabriel said some credibility. They weren't just going to believe him because he said so. That sets up the finale.

If you notice, the show gives a lot of air time to building up 'minor' characters who are about to die to give their death more emotional impact. So odds are fair that Sasha will get hers soon. I think you're right...ONE of the characters you mentioned will bite it soon.
Someone needs to die, but who? Rick: Central character Carl: Exempt Daryl: Central character Michonne: Central character Carol: Somehow a central character (could/should totally die but won't) Glenn: Central character as long as Maggie is alive Maggie: Central character as long as no one else is good-looking Sasha: Totally gonna eat it soon, storyline mostly used up Tara: Probably ate it already, completely expendable Eugene: Found his nuts and is likable therefore probably marked to die next season Abraham: Fun character but not too deep. Probably safe. Rosita: Filler, but not a target. Gabriel: Gonna eat it in dramatic fashion, possibly soon. Non-group people? Hard to say. Pete: Exile? Would seem difficult to kill him now that the moment has passed. Jessie: Clearly around to stay, one would think. Her presence makes Rosita and Maggie's roles more expendable. The Governess & Chevy Chase: I think the community is going to fall but not sure if they will end up joining Rick, scattered to the wind, or dead. I'd put my money on option 2 or 3. Nick: Turdface is clearly going down. Probably gonna get totally pwn3d by the Wolves or something. Carl's Crush: Who cares. Jessie's Son: Well, if he crosses Carol he's surely dead, at least. Aaron/Eric: They probably end up separated from the group after the fall of Alexandria and go on some wacky adventure with Daryl, can't wait!
Based on the comics: SPOILER! SPOILER! Seriously, SPOILER! Spoiler Goodbye, Abraham and Glenn. And Sasha, based on the show's template of "Give screen time to black characters right before they get gone." But maybe they were being intentionally misleading with that last one.
Hmm it'll certainly be interesting if they follow the comics on that, I think they seem to pick and choose things they like/want based on viewership/attachment. I mean, for example Daryl basically replaced tyrese (since in comics Tyrese was a lot tougher char). I also find the whole differences with the Andrea storyline interesting. Tried not to say any clear spoilers

Wasn't Rick holding back the whole time? If he wanted to kill Pete, he would have done it easily considering he's done things like rip someone's throat out. Jessie about to know why they call him big dick Rick, and that one chick is going to get some of Carl's Jr. Also if Morgan shows up you know that means to start the death clock for the other black characters. Sasha or Gabriel seem most likely.
Spoiler Glenn is safe until you see Negan. That wont be until next season. Abraham never made it to Alexandria in the comic.....so I would base anything there.

Or maybe its "M" for Morgan, but he was standing at the head facing the body so when the walkers are upright it turns into a "W". Rookie mistake.
