I'm looking for a good salad dressing that's not ranch. Don't get me wrong ranch goes great with everything. I just want something different that would go good with lettuce, tomato, ham, cheese, croutons, and maybe some egg.
Italian dressing is my personal favorite. Most places offer it as a Lite option too. Double digit calories with a tangy/savory flavor.
You are weird. Using anything but ranch is crazy. Maybe you should re-think this. But if you absolutely MUST, I recommend Italian.
I mix olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic and thyme for a spinach salad. I also use the same mixture to marinate some portobello mushrooms. Then I stuff them with wilted spinach and bake it til it's heated all the way. I like spinach. I know you said no ranch but if you want to try a different type of ranch go with maries jalapeno ranch dressing. http://www.maries.com/product-detail.aspx?productID=14&catID=5&pcatID=1
Made some blue cheese dressing last night that was legit. About 1/3 of each blue cheese, mayo and sour cream. Added some milk, pepper, lemon juice, and Worcestershire. Easy and delicious.
Hot Bacon. Not available commercially, you have to make it yourself. It's supposed to be used for spinach salads, but it works with anything.
