He's literally carrying the team. As long as he's getting his teammates involved and we are winning games I have no reason to be worried. When Dwight returns James will see less double/triple teams.
Beverly going under the pick and roll seems to be by design. If he were to go over the pick, it would put pressure on Dmo moving laterally well to stop dribble penetration. With Dwight, Bev didn't go under screens nearly as much because you could trust Dwight to move laterally on the help side. That's the biggest difference in defense with both of them. If D-mo is helping, he will either give up a lay-up or an alley oop. So it's a pick your poison situation. Die by the jumper? or by the dribble penetration.
JBB: D: Put our mind to it and play defense. Gotta accept the challenge. O: Great job offensively. 61 points, you're doing something good. It's defense. Can't allow 33+29 in a quarter.
Remember that Pelican game after the New Year? I think we gave up 65 and only scored 43 that half. That is by far the worst half I've seen from this team. Must fix the defense though and keep attacking the paint!
With that said, Beverly going under the screen isn't him playing bad defense. It's whats best for long-term team defense. Albeit getting blown by is the bad part.
never get why a defender gets so much credit if the offensive player misses easy shots. Harden has torched Tucker this season
Bev isn't playing great defense or anything, but he's getting some pretty atrocious help defense from the bigs. Bledsoe is just laying it in. Where the hell are the bigs for the contest?
Defense looking circa 2012-2013 right now when the Rox would run and gun trying to outscore everyone. They might have to put Ariza on Bledsoe. None of the PGs have a chance of stopping him.
