I have to admit that I didn't know much about him until recently. However in his last 10 games, he's averaged 14 pt, 6 rb, and 9 assists. He's had 2 triple double in a row, with one near triple double that would have made it 3 in four games.

He seems very unselfish and has prototypical NBA PG size at 6'4" and 185 pounds.

He's a beast and has a great allround game, tenacious defender and also better shooting than expected.

Before the draft there were so many stories that he absolutely demolished all the guys he played against in combine and workouts, he should've been a top 5 pick imo and a good PG with defense and size would've helped many lottery teams a lot more than a guy like Randle, Stauskas, Gordon, etc

This part isn't true, and is his only true liability. He is an abysmal shooter, down in the Rubio, Rondo class.

If he can improve that shot he has all the tools to be a star.

Rubio is in a class by himself when it comes to shooting. Payton can make a layup.

Should've said 2015 compared to his first months. Has really picked up his shooting and is way more confident in his abilities, especially the 3pt.

Somebody watched an espn video, me thinks. I said it way back a few months ago that Payton was the only real challenge wiggins had for rookie of the year.

I also created a thread that said Payton and Fournier had the potential to be the next great backcourt, which I still believe.

What I like so much about the magic is that they are building that team on defense.

^ wouldn't that backcourt be Payton and oladipo? Also, outside of those two I don't see any other excellent defenders.

Yeah that Orlando frontline of Vucevic,Harris and Frye is very bad defensively, maybe the worst in the league. From your frontcourt, defense is the most important thing. They need to add a paint protector. You can't win with a defensive liabilty at the 4 and 5, I don't care how good they are offensively.

They have a really good core. With a few well placed trades, they could become an extremely tempting destination in the summer of 16.

That's exactly what Orlando is doing? Aaron is too ran right now to be a Starter.

but eventually he, being a high lottery pick, in a historic draft, you would assume would be a starter and has defensive skills. They didn't draft him to be a bench player behind channing fyre and tobias harris, I would assume.

so again, i don't get what you are saying. you don't make sense.

This, he may develop into a good player, but he is a train wreck right now, particularly on defense. His on/off numbers are among the worst in the entire league.

What part of "too raw right now" did you not understand? They did draft him because of his physical tools and potential, not as an immediate starter.

    ?

He is a terrible defender. The other bad defenders up front are just less terrible than him.

that has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation. why in the world would you support a statement that the magic have no good defenders outside of dipo and payton, and then back it up by using players would will eventually be supplanted by currant players on their rosters: especially ones with the talent defensively of: aaron gordon.

but you can't answer that, can you?

Realized he was pretty good when he took Bev's lunch money and stuffed him in a locker the first time we played them this year.

Here are some highlights from last night against Portland. He seems like he plays at his own pace which is impressive for a rook. Poised and under control.
