C'mon man, even these guys don't compare to KD. You're talking about a ROY, MVP, All-Star MVP, Scoring champ, Finalist. All before the age of 26. Someone like a Charles Barkley would be a better comparision.

 

If Charles Barkley's career was cut short by year 7, he'd be in the same boat (basically, it would be just Charles' career in philly).

Shortened-career Durant compares more to Iverson.... who also doesn't compare to the greatest of the greats.

 

But you can't get away from your "original point": KD being closer to Oden vs. those all-timers.

If you want to remove Oden from the equation, we can have an intelligent discussion on where KD belongs between AI/Roy/Yao/whoever vs the all-timers.

 

Shortened career KD is closer to YOU in terms of overall basketball greatness than he will be to being considered one of the 10 greatest basketball players of all-time.

You can put AI/Roy/Yao/Oden all there too.

It seems that an a major injury is just a precursor to a player being on the Rockets.

T-Mac, had back injury, traded to the Rockets.
Dwight, had back injury, signed with the Rockets.
Durant, has foot issues, ????

 

Even Sam Bowie, the guy picked before Jordan.

Was considered one of the biggest bust in the history of the NBA,

still believed by many that he had a better career than Oden.

 

Durant to Houston is shaping up as destiny. We sure do love to get all stars once their health and prime are in the rear view.

 

You can't even lump guys like AI/Roy/Yao with Oden. He has done absolutely nothing in the NBA - he belongs in the Yinka Dare category.

Just retract your Oden comparisions and be done with it.

Sad for KD. It's the same injury that ended Yao Ming's career. Yao was much heavier than KD is. Wonder why KD got it.

You know they're close to not qualifiying for the Playoffs? Your theory makes no sense.

 

Huh? Yao Ming and Ralph Sampson would've been among the GOATs if they weren't injured. Lots of players would've become great if only they didn't get injured like Grant Hill, Greg Oden, Penny etc. even Brandon Roy was looking like the best SG in the league before his knees gave out. All those fancy titles you gave to Durant would've been applicable to these other players too if they had longer careers, KD hasn't missed any games prior to this season and that allowed him to become a ROY, MVP etc. Yao Ming for example, is a 7'6 C who can post, defend and shoot fts at 83% if he wasn't injured he would've been unstoppable every game.
