Yes, they did. With homecourt on the line and the T'Wolves resting half their team(including Love), the Rockets played no defense that night and gave the game away.

No disrespect to Brewer, but he scored all of his 51 off of layups, dunks, and free throws. I've never see a 50+ point game by a shooting guard where the guy didn't have to attempt any jumpshots.

Here's a compliation of every made FG in that game. He scored 51 points....and only 3 were jumpshots(one of which was a halfcourt buzzer beater) and 1 was a floater in the lane. The remaining 42 points came from layups, dunks, and free throws. Like I said, the Rockets flat out refused to play defense that night. The GARM thread was pretty ugly as I recall.

You cannot say that without considering TS%. Harden's game was much more efficient. His points also meant putting the other team into foul trouble. Harden's 50 were measurably better than Brewer's 51. For you to say otherwise means that you like the harder fought, faster paced game better. But objectively, Harden's production is better for the team.

Corey Brewer is the type of role player you want on a contending team, his grit, his attitude, is what makes him great.

I love this pick up so far

To anybody not impressed with Harden's 50pt game: It's his first but should not have been. There have been so many times that Harden has gotten upper 30's and 40 pt games through 3 quarters, only to have mchale sit him for the whole 4th. The man, the myth, the beard should have/could have at least 5 by now.

Corey Brewer scored 30 just by running the floor that game. It was embarrassing.

That is a weak argument... Harden goes to the basket with the intention to score. unlike those that draw contact on technicalities.

If people accepted he blew by them without smacking him, he would not go to the line 25 times. and he would have had an even better night.

Harden is on another level with his quickness. he is in video game mode when he drives to the basket against NBA competition.

Harden may not necessarily be a band member but they certainly are a 50/50 duo :cool:

Harden and Brewer should have at least 50 combined every night
    DH12/Dmo/TJ/JSmoo should have 40 combined
    Ariza/Bev/Jet should have 20 combined

That's just it. You are MUCH better off not fouling Harden. Harden is shooting <40% FG and about 90% FT. Letting him finish the layup is literally a better option.

Somebody played the Rockets like that this year and beat us. I forget who that was.

    btw, Brewer is awesome.

That has got to be the dumbest rationale ever.
His <40% fg% is including all his jumpers, and NOT the layups that he's prevented from completing. If they were to "let him finish the layup" as you suggest, don't you think that fg% would be higher than 40?
