Keep in mind that people were saying the same thing with Westbrook after his multiple knee problems after having been an iron-man. The flipside is Derrick Rose. From afar, it's impossible for us to really know what impact an injury has on someone - every player and every injury is completely different. 3 months from now, Durant may be as good as new.

Sad. Really hate when great players or any players are out with serious injuries.

Have been saying for months that I don't want KD for our team. His foot injuries are VERY serious from the history of it, think his chances of having a healthy future are 50/50 at best. Don't understand why CF Fans want him so badly, don't ya remember what happened to Yao, T-mac, Sampson?

His numbers were very good during the games he played, and OKC was a lot more likely to win with him in the lineup than without. I definitely wouldn't say he had "zero impact".

Too bad for Durant. But glad to see one very dangerous team removed from the equation. I hope he comes back and he gets the chance to live out a career with Westrook that is the equivalent of Stockton and Malone.

Westbrook is gonna take 40 shots every night. LOL.
Too bad for OKC, the window is closing on them.

I agree with you 100 percent. I'm so thankful for the rockets doctors and trainers.

Yeah, but for every WB and Bogut, you have 10 Yao Mings, Amares, Brandon Roys etc. hell LBJ and Dwight were iron men prior to this season (last season for Dwight). It's always a red flag for me if doctors say you have a general injury like "soreness" or "back spasms" rather a specific injury like torn MCL or whatever, because this means the doctors don't know what's wrong with you and if they don't know what's wrong then really you aren't being healed and you don't know how to prevent it from happening again.

My guess is they rushed KD way too soon, and as we know with Grant Hill or Yao rushing a guy back too soon can have disastrous consequences on your long term health.

In other news, the Rockets first round pick (via N.O.) just dropped four spots.

This will be moot after the Grizzlies get stomped by the Rockets in the conference semis.

Do we have any evidence of this? Players get injured and return to have long, healthy careers all the time - we just don't remember it because those aren't particularly interesting or long-lived stories. I think the reason we remember the Yao's and Amares is that they are the unique and less-common stories.

The list of athletes who come back to an elite level from FOOT injuries is far less than those who come back from knee surgeries... In ALL sports.

The foot is a notiously hard structure to fix to the point that an athlete can not only be elite again, but won't re-injure the area.
