Thought I'd check this thread out after not having looked in quite some time. Looks like it's turned ugly...

A lot of sourkraut in this thread. Keep rooting for the Yankees of German soccer and acting like it makes you important.

Poor moes...trolling the Germans on this thread is like trolling Bulls fans after Jordan just won another championship.

Anyway, this thread was better (and friendlier) when it was only populated by people who actually have knowledge about football (like Ace), rather than n00bs like moes who want some attention.

Ajax knocked out on the away goals rule. Think de Boer needs to get out of there after this season - what about fixing things at Manchester City?

Why isn't America in the UCL? I bet America will beat the UCL.

Perfect for Bayern imo, two strong opponents will be out.
Think Barca, Atletico, Bayern, Juve advance.

Lame draw, only compelling matches are ones that we have seen already.

Guardiola has to be the happiest guy in Germany, gets a good draw and sees two of Atletico, Real, Barca, and PSG go out. I would like to see Atletico get revenge for last year, but even as bad as Real have been recently, Atletico were unconvincing over two legs against Bayer Leverkusen. But they do often play to the level of their competition.

Barca, Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern go through, IMO. Would love to see a Bayern - Spanish team final, but really any combination of those 4 in the final would be awesome. Can't see Juventus making it past the semis, especially with Pogba out for a while now. Also the FIFA mandate for player's being released for Copa America a week before the CL final will have some serious implications for Barcelona and Juventus (Messi, Neymar, Dani Alves, Mascherano, Tevez, Vidal). But I bet someone will get upset and they'll let em play.

I really hope Atleti can advance but Madrid has the experience and the players. They will have Ramos and Modric at full strength whom they have missed dearly. I want a Barca-Bayern final, would be epic.

Would also like to see Bayern and Barca in the final. Two best teams go at it.

LOL at everyone underrating Porto and putting Bayern in the semis. Porto is no joke with Jackson, Brahimi, Tello, Casemiro, and Herrera, plus their Brazilian full backs Sandro and Danilo with their speed and skill. That is a killer counter attacking team, they are also GREAT on set pieces. I'm saying it now, you guys are in for a surprise.

I agree Porto is for real. Don't know if they can beat Bayern, though.

    Barca
Madrid (I wish both could lose in this round)
    Bayern
Juve (congrats on getting the worst team of the stage)

Bayern and Guardiola heavily pressing for a Raheem Sterling move, according to BILD and di Marzio. Two of the best football sources, so think this is not just typical jibberish.
Also makes a lot of sense given Bayern's need for a successor regarding Ribery and Robben, really hope this deal happens.

I've been on the Porto bandwagon this season as I'm a big fan of Brahimi and Jackson. Tello was a good addition too and like you said Casemiro, Herrera, the full backs, it's just a good team

    but

I just can't pick them over Bayern. Although if between Porto-Bayern and Juve-Monaco I had to pick an upset, I'd go with Porto over Bayern.

Ah ok. I disregarded it initially but like you wrote, BILD mentioned it so there must be some interest.

Is Di Marzio usually in the know when it comes to German football? I know he is on it w/regard to Serie A but I didn't know how in the know he would be when it comes to which way Bayern are looking.
