Once Dirk decides he cant play anymore, Parsons might get good...I dont know thats just me..Dallas screwed its own self here.
Who remembers? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wwZdoevq3E4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Parsons is what he is, a super role player. He can do a lot of things pretty good, but virtually none of them great. He is literally what one means when they say "plug and play". As high as I was on him when we drafted him, I always understood that he would never be a star due to the lack of athleticism, unless he played with a high level of intelligence and is able to exploit any minuscule mismatch like Bird did.
He was always the best fast breaker on the team last year. Definitely got out and dunked the most exploiting a 3 on 2 or better situation. So dunno where this lack of athleticism is coming from. But Brewer easily can replace him with some tweaking.
i assuming you didnt know parsons has been out due to injury. the last 10 games he actually played they are 7-3. and 4-1 since returning from injury
as good as brewer's been he doesnt have the handle or playmaking ability of cp. but at a fraction of the cost its not too bad.
Parsons only played in the last 5 of those 10. Record? 4-1 with wins against OKC and LAC. But I'm sure you have a valid point in there somewhere.
Being good in transition does not make one athletic. He as athletic as the average NBA player, but nothing to write home about. When we say athleticism (really though, this is common sense) we are talking about the level of athleticism that separates an average NBA player from above average. For instance, Wiggin is athletic, Westbrook is athletic, Battier and Parsons are not. Let me repeat again, Parsons does not have the athletic ability that can make him a star.
For all of the last season, he was the only perimeter player that could make fast cuts for some great dunks. While he doesn't possess Harden's eurostep, I'd argue at 100% he was extremely athletic for 6'9. More so than Harden all of all of last year. He's got more dunks driver from out on the perimeter than any other Rocket player last season. Battier is not even a fraction as athletic and completely incomparable. I really grown not to like the guy as well but to say he's not athletic when clearly the games show he was the most athletic second only to a healthier D. Howard and comparable to the speediest Lin has been should be on par with what to look at during last season.
Did anyone else see this Twitter exchange between Lillard and Parsons' best friend? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Don't come at Damian Lillard on Twitter unless you want to get destroyed: <a href="http://t.co/0IIdgf74nn">http://t.co/0IIdgf74nn</a> <a href="http://t.co/pDxGgfwmY8">pic.twitter.com/pDxGgfwmY8</a></p>— SB Nation NBA (@SBNationNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/SBNationNBA/status/578737929264197634">March 20, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/paush">@paush</a> getting toasted by <a href="https://twitter.com/Dame_Lillard">@Dame_Lillard</a></p>— Nick Calathes (@Nick_Calathes15) <a href="https://twitter.com/Nick_Calathes15/status/578747541950345216">March 20, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
