Well I agree that he hadn't shown much on the defensive side of the ball. I've said as much in other posts and do think that they kept the 2 best guys out of those 3, but he is a solid scorer and solid rebounder. He was averaging like 14 and 8 in only 27 minutes. You can always utilize a big guy that can score and rebound. OKC saw the potential there and he has been very good for them. Some systems and situations just fit guys better. I think he could have done the same thing here in Houston that he is doing in OKC with Harden drawing so much attention. He free agency status surely complicated things and was probably one of the biggest detractors in any thoughts about acquiring him.

This is going to make a hell of a 30 for 30 (whether they end up winning anything or not).

This concerns me... the Pelicans must not make the playoffs.

I agree. We NEED that pick. That pick is probably the key to our offseason whether it is by drafting a legit rotation player or being able to acquire one through trade.

I hate having to root for OKC to make the playoffs though.

Kinda OffT, but...more fuel is now added to the "Westbrook for MVP" fire.

    More mileage on Westbrook's body.

Kanter and McGary are DESTROYING Dallas. Ibaka who? OKC is going to be able to flip one of these bigs for another piece soon if they keep this up. They suddenly have crazy depth up front.

    15 and 5 for Kanter on 6-7
    10 and 11 for McGary.

    At halftime.

Meanwhile, in Houston, James Harden is healthy and dominating. Let there be no mistake - these were the hated SuperSonics and we should all appreciate the unfortunate situations this franchise finds themselves in.

Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA about 1 hour ago

Kanter has killed it on offense and the glass for OKC, but he's completely clueless on D. Roberson helps, but just sinks the O too much.

Ibaka makes that team go on defense. He is their rim protector. OKC kills other teams because of Westbrook's relentless drives, Durant's jumpers, and Ibaka's defense. Ibaka's defense is just as important as the other two's.

Kanter is a sieve. He is bad at positioning, bad at rotating, and does not guard the rim.

Kanter is OKC's Mo Taylor. He just wants to score and not worry abut anything else.

Even if they make the playoffs, OKC is screwed in the playoffs without a healthy Ibaka.

I am hoping for a healthy OKC to make the playoffs (for the pick) and also for them to knock the Warriors out in the first round.

From Bogut and Dwight's situation as comparison, I would say 3 weeks in minimum and 4 weeks sounds about right.

If the Thunder can get him back for playoff (if they can make it), that's about the best scenario.

    OKC has good depth.

    Should get 8th seed.
