Funny, because he was one of the big media supporters of Lin when Linsanity was taking place and was very skeptical of Harden's MVP "worthiness" earlier in the season. Interesting how fast his opinion changes to fit the current narrative.
I'm really conflicted. Harden needs another playmaker when he is off (or doesn't want to go get the ball! ) Parsons would be great for that, but he doesn't seem to do anything else anymore. Now that he got his money, he doesn't rebound or play defense. And the Rockets have won games with just scrappy defense and have need rebounds from the wing since no one can box out Now Ariza's shot has been broken for a LONG time yet some games he is everything for the Rockets while shooting like a complete chump. His defense in winning time against the best players on the planet is amazing and I think will be invaluable in the Playoffs.
Ariza has been a very strong rebounder this season. Our rebounding would suck even more with Parsons out there since he loves to break out and cherry pick. If we are looking at player vs. player. Going either with Parsons or Ariza is a lot of preference. I would go with Ariza, though. On this team, it's imperative to have a quality defender next to Harden to take the other team's best player. Ariza's shooting has gotten better (>40% in February) and he has a track record of being a good shooter in the playoffs. But when you look at contracts, it goes to Ariza without a doubt. Parsons would lock us into that team for the rest of Howard's contract, no hope to improve the roster, at all. Think about it this way. Parsons for 15M or Ariza (8M), Brewer (5M) and Smith (2M)?
Didn't sound like Jon Barry was driving the Linsanity hype train here: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/e55Eq2_dSTI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It was 3 years ago. And opinions can change but he shouldn't act like he knew Lin was going to be failure when he was recorded saying Lin was "the real deal".
I'm one who thinks Parsons playmaking ability was overrated. He could do it, but he wasn't anything special at it. Definitely better than Ariza, but Ariza makes up for it with elite defense that Parsons couldn't provide. Having said that...Ariza's 3 point shooting is very frustrating given the volume of 3's he takes. That is definitely the area where I miss Parsons the most.
Later in the segment, Barry was saying he was "sold" on Lin and he was the "real deal". He was "totally bought in" to the hype. lololol <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RLeAJXGo49o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Woooo! Our boy Troy Daniels went 2/2 from downtown and grabbed 1 defensive board in today's game. I think he has a total of 9 minutes on that Hornets team... So pathetic
Man, the Lakers have played the Warriors a lot better than we have. Granted, I'm sure the Warriors took them lightly, but still.
[rQUOTEr]The Nuggets have rested players for two straight games. On Monday night, those players just happened to be three of the team's four leading scorers and the leading rebounder since the coaching change in a season that team brass — and many fans — hope ends with a high lottery pick. Not everyone is pleased, though. Forward Wilson Chandler was asked if he expected a full roster Thursday with the long rest between games. "I have no idea what they are going to do," Chandler said. "Whoever is on the court just has to keep playing. It's the nature of the business. I'm not a GM; I don't know what's going on. It's tough when you're fighting together but you're getting set up for failure." And yet, Hunt isn't making the decision to sit players. He's just having to coach through it and then talk about it. And the players, banged up like most other players in the NBA this late in a season, aren't sitting themselves down. Asked what he thought about sitting, Faried said "no comment." http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_27724799/denver-nuggets-get-cooled-off-loss-memphis-grizzlies[/rQUOTEr]
