A more macroscopic view of the issue:

No matter what your politics are or whatever political points you want to track, I think that maybe this Hillary email scandal (if on the right) / kerfluffle (if on the left) can be used as a jumping point to tackling the problem at its source. Wishful thinking is that both parties will make this part of their platform and allocate/raise the necessary funds to make it work.

Yet the NSA has built a facility capable of keeping these records archived effectively forever, but chooses to use those resources to spy on Americans instead.

Parade Magazine reporter offered to give Hillary veto power over story on her.

    Embarrassing, he should be fired.

That may well have been the price of access. It's terrible, but certainly not uncommon.

I am scandalized that a hard-hitting Sunday supplement such as Parade Magazine would stoop to such tactics. What next? Is Marylin vos Savant not truly a genuis?

    Wow. Parade Magazine.

Truly amazed that the Republican party has sunk to this depth.

What? I can't go to Parade for my news anymore? Damn! Thank goodness this is getting the investigation it deserves.

I subscribe to Parade magazine for it's award winning pro-gay, Israel bashing, anti-gun agenda.

They also have great 2-for-1 coupons I frequently clip out.

What would Hillary have to do for you not to dismiss it?

I've worked in military/defense my entire career. If I set up a server at home to do work on (even unclassified), I would be fired immediately.

If classified info touched the server, I would be prosecuted.

Everyone with a clearance can be randomly polygraphed and asked if they have willfully mishandled classified information. Hillary should submit to the same.
