If anything this is a great veteran to add in case Nix isn't healthy. And if Nix is healthy who better for him to learn from.
It was weird that anyone bothered to defend him today when I ran down the list of why his story didn't make sense. I don't know how anyone can take him seriously on the radio at this point when he put out such a factually incorrect story.
Resign Kareem? Check. Resign Mallet? Check. Bring in Hoyer? Check. Trade spare QBs? Check. Sign a legit safety? Check. Sign a legit WR2? Check. Sign a legit NT? Check. I swear, it's like I'm dreaming. This is *exactly* how I wanted this to offseason to go down.
That's the way I see this signing. If Nix looks good this season as a backup then Wilfork can be cut after only one season.
Lopez posted a story to CBS today that Wilfork had left town (by 10am) and was not signing here, narrowing his list to Baltimore, NE and Indy. Within 20 minutes or so there were reports out of Indy that they weren't even talking to him, no visit there planned. Before the hour was out local guys were claiming Wilfork was still meeting with the Texans. By 2:30 he's signed a contract with the Texans. John Lopez is a true clutchfans insider.
Freaking hilarious. Texans getting better day by day. These signings are making me even more anxious for football! Not that I wasn't already.
Who did we sign? Must have missed it... As much as people complain about spam threads, I really think it is worthwhile to have a thread to announce the signing of a player
Going to be very interested to see how RAC used Wilfork. Ted Johnson was on the radio 30 minutes ago saying he didn't think Wilfork would sign here because he would go from being an every down guy in NE to a guy who would only get 15 snaps here in Houston and that the Texans would only pay him $1 to $2 million a year.
