Just got Wilfork: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Thank you everyone for everything your support has been tremendous <a href="http://t.co/Kej0MsI6yB">pic.twitter.com/Kej0MsI6yB</a></p>— Vince Wilfork (@wilfork75) <a href="https://twitter.com/wilfork75/status/577551534713491457">March 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Is Red Bryant or B.J. Raji next on the list at DT now that it appears Wilfork is not coming to Houston?
Nevermind, welcome to Houston Wilfork! Does anythink that either Bryant or Raji would be good as players to rotate with Wilfork or just wait for the draft to find another lineman to rotate?
The move for Cecil Shorts also helps explain the conversation about Andre Johnson's potential role being reduced. Shorts is a guy who is only 27 who is good for at least 6 targets per game, Nuk is good for 10, Arian Foster is good for 5, the TE spot as a whole is probably good for another 4 leaving 5 for Andre which would be only 80 targets. 80 targets lead to about 45 or 46 receptions and that's if he stays healthy.
weird to assume they would have signed Shorts if Andre had stayed. So I don't think the above is necessarily an accurate way to view this.
If there is any money left I want us to still go after Red Bryant, he'd be good insurance if Wilfork is done and he can also provide depth at 3-4 DE as a very good run stopper.
They were looking for a slot type WR, it's a good bet that Shorts was always a target because he fits that role well.
Like I said, John Lopez's story this morning didn't make sense and I accept the rep from the contrarians who defended him.
Wow Stevie Johnson still available: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Per sources Stevie Johnson has left New England WITHOUT signing. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Patriots?src=hash">#Patriots</a></p>— Dianna Marie Russini (@NBCdianna) <a href="https://twitter.com/NBCdianna/status/577552943827853313">March 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The good news I was wrong! I was told by people who would know that it looked very doubtful this morning. That changed. Wilfork a Texan!</p>— John P.
