[HBO] The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst

I don't know why (maybe i'm stupid?), but I just kind of assumed that this was all inadmissible, and couldn't come back to bite him in the ass.

This is historic tv if he gets nailed because of this.

 

Just got caught up. This is utterly amazing. I feel like this is going to be television history.

I guess that interview (posted on page 1) has me confused:

Does California still not know about the letter? I mean, I know they put it in a safety deposit box for after the interview, but I can't believe that the director would wait till after the show aired to officially hand the evidence over? It seems that asking for trouble. I would imagine shortly after they were done filming and got a second interview with Durst, they handed this over. So why in the interview, does she not seem to know what's going on? And why have they not arrested this douche?

And if the case is that they are going to turn over the evidence after the episode? Will there be follow up episode? Or is that season two?


Or maybe I'm just half asleep...

 

You're right, the transfer of ownership of that letter is concerning. But these guys have been so smart about everything up to this point. Hopefully after the final episode those questions will be answered.

Obviously his lawyers will attempt to get the letter declared inadmissible. The filmmakers know this, which is why they said they want to try and get Durst's reaction to the letter on tape before all of that legal wrangling goes down. Basically ambush him with it before he can lawyer up.

 

But hasn't this already happened? And if so, are we to assume it amounted to nothing, since there have been no headlines of him being arrested?

just heard on local news that Durst in past does not plead insanity as a defense because the way his family trust fund is written, if he does use insanity /mental defense then he loses that trust fund big $.

Finale was the shortest episode but damn that was insane at the end. You can't make this stuff up, the whole mini series was kind of nuts.

 

Don't have HBO but I would have liked to seen this.

 

Durst waives extradition and will head to Los Angeles to face trial.
