Between Terrence euro-step on DJ, his crucial tip-ins, and his huge 3 (which officialy put him at 33.3% for the season),on-top of his 12 rebounds, this guy was HUGE! If he can keep his rebounding rate up, he will quickly become a top tier pf.
Thank you, my friend. That did not hurt my feelings at ALL. JVG is one of my favorite basketball minds on the planet.
The problem is except for his passing, he's not that good at skills that are particularly valuable for his position at an nba level. Sure it's great to be a good rebounder and defender for your position, but for a smallest guy on the court perimeter position, there's a lot of others (like shooting) that are more valuable than those 2. You don't need center skills at your point guard.
I know what you're getting at ... but this is almost like saying you'd rather take a Derrick Favors and Amare Stoudamire over Larry Bird. (Dirk doesnt take as many 3's as it seems like a Ryan Anderson. Dirk is like Aldridge with extended 3pt range. Kevin Love is the far worse stretch-4 example. Even D-Mo can shoot more 3's per attempt than Dirk) I'm okay with T-Jo playing to his strengths too. Effort and energy can be consistent, just look at Corey Brewer. TJo even shows signs of CREATING offense when there's nothing going on in a possession.
Jones's 8 points in the 4th quarter was huge. Since he was inserted back into the starting lineup, he's been very consistent on both offense and defense.
if he can take less jump shots and more shots at the rim with authority then he can be a consistent dominant forward.
Jones has good upside.Finishing with authority will certainly help. His low post game can improve with time, but he will need to develop a reliable jumper in order to become a dominant PF. I like his rebounding and his shot blocking a lot, I hope his defensive rotations and his ability to hold position will get better as he gets stronger. He works hard, I think he will reach his peak after 3 more years.
He was a decent sixth man, but recently he has not. His shot isn't falling, his defense and rebounding are lazy, and passing has been inconsistent.
Can we please get this threads it'll changed to "Terrence Jones is Black, people" because that is what I read every time I open the GARM.
You can switch him out with half of the players in the league and we would lose nothing. Wont last long term in this league. 50-50 chance. #fraudaholic
I don't like the paint softness by Dmo and Tjones in the paint and on D. Too many advantages by other teams big men.
D-Mo for sure... Idk what you're talking about with TJ though. 12 boards, 5 offensive, nobody is going to have an easy time against DJ, but Terrence was anything but soft in that game, and has had 2 double digit rebounding games in a row now...
