Story about Vin e in Houston This isn't a PFF article, but his PFF grading is referenced in these paragraphs: "Wilfork was effective during the Patriots’ Super Bowl run, grading out as 13th best defensive end in the league by Pro Football Focus’ metrics (subscription required). Wilfork is known more as a defensive tackle, and although he has the versatility to shift outside, that would be the role he is likely to play should he land in Houston. Houston struggled on the interior of its defensives line in 2014, with Ryan Pickett and Jerrell Powe both grading out poorly as defensive tackle, ranking 65th and 76th out of the 81 players to line up for 25% of their teams snaps at the position (subscription)."
That's my argument to draft a CB in the 1st. JJo doesn't have much more time on this team, so we need to be prepared. Generally, you can plug a rookie RB in the game and they'll do decent. A CB takes more time to adjust. Plus, CB is much more premium of a position than RB. I think we either need to go CB or OLB in the 1st round.

Gurley is a good prospect but you just don't need to spend a 1st rounder to find good RBs anymore. Outside of AP and Lynch, the top rushers year after year are typically found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
Shorts and Wilfork would be a nice end to the FA portion of the offseason (besides bargain bin pickups). Would give us some flexibility to do pretty much anything with our first round pick.

That would a really quick visit if the reporters were given the story an hour ago that he is continuing his visit today and he's already gone.
I mean the story is plausible, but John Lopez breaking news from 610 is weird. Disappointing to say the least.
Still think it is weird that NOBODY else has this except John Lopez. Is he even connected to the Texans anymore?
Yeah, but how often do the Texans give news to 610? Normally they give their info to John McClain. I honestly can't even remember if John Lopez has ever "broke" a story. I thought he was just an opinion guy even when he was at the Chronicle. He's certainly not popular with the Texans given his other articles and on-air takes that the Texans aren't a classy organization.
I like Shorts but I think his stats are a bit padded always playing from behind. And he's always hurt. I want to go into the draft not needing to draft a WR though, so I'm for him if the number is right.
