Oh, I can see it now...no wasted Prime D12...no boneheaded Lin...no 0.9 seconds.

*Portland takes Game 2 behind another 40+ game from Aldridge TIED 1-1

*Troy Daniels hits clutch three, Rockets take one in Portland ROCKETS 2-1

*Lin's crucial rebound enables Houston to maintain lead, take Game 4 ROCKETS 3-1

*Dwight Howard leads the way as Houston advances to second round ROCKETS WIN 4-1

LMA snatched that title from Crawford this season.

Agreed.. We live and die by the three.. However, people forget how good Harden and Howard were running the pick and roll when they were in the lineup together.. For the first few regular season games, we were rolling over opponents..

Now we are crying about rebounding but when Howard comes back in we cry about free throws and a poor point guard.

All teams will have holes because players only are as good as they can be. Getting a good PG is great but they will have flaws too. We need teamwork and to believe!!

The only way the Rockets can win is if Dwight comes back and becomes last season Dwight and not the limited Dwight that we have seen all year. He really needs to dominate defensively, and in rebounding.

Don't forget that, over the summer, the Rockets removed their greatest late game loss creator from the team, Jerry Lin. We have a chance to win now!

Thank you, Batman. This thread had me confused, but now I understand it. ;-)-

(seriously, why would someone bother starting a thread like this?)

Now we are talking. The amount of terrible things that happen in that series have to be an outlier. **Knocks on dick**

Anything can happen. It's not like it would be shocking if the Rockets lost in the first round this season if they wind up facing the Clippers or Spurs, home court advantage or not. They should beat the Mavs, but even that series would be unpredictable. Remember, the Mavs gave the Spurs the hardest time of any team they faced in the postseason last year. If Dallas hadn't p-ssed away a huge 4th quarter lead in Game 1, they may have even won that series.

That being said, with a healthy Dwight, I do think the Rockets are capable of beating anyone in the West not named Golden State. But anything is possible with the way this conference is stacked.

I don't think quoting the common refrain from the head coach is spin through lack of context. He says those things all the time. If you feel McHale is just BS'ing his players in huddles with coach speak rather than actually coaching his team by presenting adjustments and tactics then I think we agree.

This is why I have little faith in the team moving forward. Can't have time to be optimistic when no changes are made during the entire season, this play style is absolutely horrible and not championship basketball. I'd even say it's D-League ball but then that would be a huge insult to D-League.

Yup, seems that way. Funny how even when we were third seed, i never felt confident against WC playoff competition. It's just the simplistic, dumb, doo whatever you want and hoist threes until you die offense that will get us nowhere. Former NBA players know it, commentators know it, even Morey and Leslie know it. Leslie is expecting a first round loss so why shouldn't we? Morey caring more about check balance than roster balance as well. McHale is way over his head and clueless. It's a shame we are waiting another year. If I were Harden, I would get away from this team ASAP..

    Exactly.
Im most concerned with our coaching staff...have they even given Harden the "spurs" treatment yet? Almost every team is resting players here and there, but rockets? No we are gonna run our most durable and reliable player into the ground....save for his one gm suspension...
At this rate Harden will be toast come playoff...maybe our coaching staff didnt realize harden played at the world cup this summer.
I dont trust our coach to think in a crunch time situation nor to manage our best player well.

I would rest Harden and Ariza Tuesday against the Magic, give KJ some PT.

i understand how you feel...for me it's mainly the live by the 3 die by the 3 mentality when you do not have a great 3 point shooting team.

This especially is bad when it's patrick beverly doing the ISO and jacking up a step back 3 pointer.

It depends who they match up against. Dallas or San Antonio seem like the best matchups for Houston. Anyone else, I'd be wary of

One championship and done. No repeats.

Pretty pathetic, but that's what I feel we're destined for.
