Anyone have insight on the best/cheapest way of booking a multi-destination trip in Asia? Wanting to hit up a few places in two weeks. Not sure if i should seek out a travel agent or book the individual flights on my own.

The destinations on my preliminary list include:

    Seoul
    Tokoyo
    Hong Kong
    Manila
    Bangkok

In a dream scenario my departing flight would have a layover in Amsterdam for a night of shroooooooooooms:grin:

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

That's WAY too many destinations for two weeks my friend.

Tokyo alone warrants at least 5 days. Why not just do a Japan trip for two weeks and explore a few destinations within the country? Or the same for Thailand for two weeks. That would be much more enjoyable, in my opinion.

Cities can be great, but don't discount smaller towns/areas during your travels.

    Just my $0.02.

Forget Tokyo. I live here. Go to Thailand for a week then somewhere else for another. Don't just stay in Bangkok either. That city is stressful, hit up some islands like Phuket or Koh Samui. Plenty of fungus there in a shake form. I wouldn't want to go to both Seoul and Tokyo. Subtle differences but not enough to go to both places. Philippines from what I hear is fun, but dangerous. Beautiful islands there as well.

    i went to

    beijeng
    bangkok
    tokyo
    hong kong

this last may over about 18 days, and that was almost too much for that amount of time. travelling from one place to another takes away a day. if you did that you would spend 45 minutes leaving a city to the airport, go through customs, wait to board flight, actual flight time, 45 minutes to next city; add all that together and there goes your day.

so in my opinion i would go to 3 places tops in 2 weeks.

Apparently you can ship yourself in a crate. Make sure you put fragile label on it

I agree with the others posters that that is pushing it for two weeks but certainly doable just be prepared to cram a lot in.

As for flights I travel frequently in Asia and you can find some good deals booking yourself. Generally flights within Asia are much cheaper than flights in the US, it's just getting across the oceans. There are many budget airlines that you can fly, such as Jetstar, Tiger Air, Air Asia (even though they had a crash in the past year their safety record is still pretty good). Otherwise many major carriers have good deals to stay competitive with the budget carriers. Check the ANA and Asiana sites for some good Japan and Korea deals. For flights to and from Hong Kong check Dragon Air. For the Philippines check Cebu Pacific.

you should either do HK-Tokyo-Seoul or HK-Manila-Bangkok

take your main overseas flight into HK and then book 3 one-way flights with local carriers thru to the other 2 cities and back to HK

Good advice guys. Thanks. And y'all are right about needing to trim down the flights to 3 countries at the most in 2 weeks. Will post an update once confirmed bookings, etc.

yeah man i promise you if you go to 3 places in 2 weeks. you will NOT regret it, and thinking you made a mistake and should have gone to 4.

i feel the same as you im assuming when i travel i want to see as much as possible (unless im chilling in a beach town) but realistically you could spend 10 days in tokyo for example and leave not seeing everything. the city is that dense with interesting things to check out.

good luck and come back to the thread if you have any more questions.

You should consider the length of a flight to Asia and how much it costs. For example, a cheap, round trip flight to Shanghai might cost $1,200, but it takes 48 hours to get there and back. No one wants to spend that much time on a plane. A different flight might cost $1,400-1,600 but will take much less time.

Then Pattaya and or Angeles City Phillippines. But screw that there are women everywhere. Hit up a tropical island or two and a few big cities.
