Not sure what implications, if any, it has on Wilfork possibly returning to New England

Man, if we get Shorts and DGB, we'll be set at WR for some time...the thought of it is such a tease...I need to stop thinking about it.

As far as Cecil is concerned, he was expected to do a lot more in Jax...however, I think you can blame the QBs more than anything on Shorts not becoming more of a well known figure in the NFL. I think he has a lot of skill, just needs to be in the right system. He'll be surrounded with a ton more talent in Houston, so I do feel like he can step up and play the #3 role perfectly.

What's the general consensus on Moore vs. Lewis?

What do the big football grading sites have to say comparing the two?

Shorts has had suspect QBs to work with. Never heard anything about him dropping balls. I do recall however some concussions, which is scary. As a 2, he should be great provided the Texans can get him the ball.

Seeing nothing in him. Still hopeful though, as he's the best fit out there, in my opinion. Especially money wise.

Rahim is more of a coverage guy that is not great against the run and Kendrick is just the opposite. Would have been nice to have them both, curious on what Lewis's 3 yr deal is worth compared to Moore's.

Shorts can't stay healthy. Hammy has been a recurring injury for him for the past 2-3 years.

If Shorts is a slot receiver why doesn't he ever play in the slot?

His cap hits for those last two years of his are 8.9 and 9.5 million.
Don't be surprised if Texans go after a quality back in the draft to blood so they can cut him the last year - especially as he is getting long in the tooth now.

Walterfootball has had us drafting Todd Gurley for a good portion of their mocks. I wouldn't mind that.

They say he is good to go after that ACL, but I am leary of drafting previously injured players - we have been bitten too many times lately.
IF he is good to go, he will be a monster.
The way I see it, the only way they take a RB in the first is if they trade back. Then they take Gordon imo, who btw has been mocked by several well respected pundits to the Cowboys - scary.

I'm not a huge fan of RBs in the first round, especially when 1) we have Blue who showed at least a little promise last year, 2) the 2nd & 3rd round will be fairly deep with quality backs (Duke, Ameer, Yeldon), and 3) 2016 free agency has some very good backup RBs that could be had on a decent contract (Lamar Miller, Asiata, etc.).

We have more immediate holes elsewhere that we should look to fill in Round 1 and ideally 2, IMO.

Sorry about my last post; may have been fake. I do hope Shorts signs here so I do apologize for that.

    Here's some good news:

Great, you've got the heir apparent to Foster, now who plays OLB?

I don't think our need is as great as people are making it out to be.

We're more needy at WR and NT. Any of the backups are capable at OLB until Clowney comes back.

I'd much rather take a receiver early, though. I would be fine with a Gurley or Gordon in the first if we got someone like Phillip Dorsett in the second, though.

Pash rusher is probably by far our biggest need. We have 1 single pass rusher. He's a DE in a 3/4 that needs pass rush from the LB corp. We don't have a single rushing OLB. Whitney may get you 5/6? sacks, who knows. I don't expect Clowney to even be in uniform until at least after week 9. And then his playing time will mostly be situational in order to get him up to playing speed.

You've got a one man show at D-line, and while he's great, he will not be able to keep that up unless you get him help. You need a lot of work with that front 7.

Crick is a rotational DE, and there isn't anything after him. Whitney is Whitney, you have no clue what he's going to give you, and there isn't anyone after that. You've got Cush at ILB who was atrocious all year. Had no clue what he was doing most snaps, and was slow and hesitant. Tarp is alright as a coverage ILB seeing how he is ranked in the top 5 of coverage LBs, but he gives you nothing after that. We lack speed and strength up front. Huge holes all over.

If I were the Texans I'd go DE/NT, ILB, OLB in no specific order in the first 3 rounds. BPA all the way. This team will live and die by the defense.
