Time after time? If this losing streak were longer than 2 games in 2 days, I might be inclined to agree, but come on.

My question was directed at the poster who suggested McHale is responsible for guys not rebounding and bricking open 3s, which is why I quoted him.

    Interesting. Didn't know that.

(Not being a smart ass at all, just curious)

Could you share a little more on this?

That's why I say Harden is playing smart. He knows he has no business playing out there, so he just goes through the motions. As long as he avoids injuries, Harden can give us a fighting chance in the next games.

Might be off that McHale bandwagon. Hard to hold faith.

This not the 1st game in which they've played like this Ms. Lady. Shoots this is dating back to last season. If you go through this thread you will see me defending Mchale. I've also put a lot of blame on these players. But when your team continue to make the same mistakes, play with no intensity, & don't box out for rebounds. Then that's on the coach.

I was genuinely unaware there was such a thing as the "McHale bandwagon"

Lol, it'd be pretty hard to have a bandwagon if he hasn't done much yet... I mean coaching a team out of the first round. Oh well, maybe when dwight is back and we're in the playoffs, McHale will do something we haven't seen yet. Then we can all get on the bandwagon!! Yay, go team!

Do you really think they aren't aware rebounding is an issue or don't know how to box out? We've been outrebounded for much of the season since Dwight went out -- not sure who didn't expect that would happen -- but still found ways to scrap to wins. Is McHale supposed to go out and physically move DMo to the right spot and lift his arms to collect the rebound? Should he go out onto the floor and stand beside Bev and Ariza while they continue bricking wide open looks? He for sure isn't without blame, and there are plenty of times I question his decision-making, but some things are on these guys as professionals who know full well how to play the game and are paid millions to do it.

To turn this to a positive, one thing we need to consider is Dwight is not here. With a Healthy Dwight would we be losing like this?

The problem is that there's no accountability. The players are allowed to go out there and make the same mistakes over and over and as long as you are one of McHale's "guys" you don't have to face any consequences. There were several times tonight where DMo should have been yanked out of the game by the scruff of his neck, but McHale just watches on.

You even said yourself in a thread a couple weeks back that McHale and DMo were arguing about something on the sideline and eventually McHale just gave in. I'm sorry, but I don't want that out of my teams coach. He needs to visibly challenge these guys a bit more. As far as McHale is concerned...we have played with energy in 43 of our games this season, and we have lacked energy in 22 of them. I'm sorry Kevin...but it's not that simple.

So what are the McHale kool aid drinkers and apologists citing now as an excuse??

Definitely agree, there comes a point when it's not all on a coach. I mean if this were the 80s and he was still playing then maybe we could complain about the lack of rebounds etc. I'm hoping Dwight gets healthy soon (well by playoffs at least), that'd fix a lot of this rebound issue (as you stated).

Yeah, I agree on removing players that are having off nights or calling them out, but I don't know in some cases if bench is any better (sometimes), I mean for example if Smith, TJ, and DMo are off, would you rather see Dorsey? I mean I know he tries hard, but it's the equivalent of Chuck Hayes at center (don't get me wrong he was a good hustle player, but he never should have been starting). I think a lot of the team just looked off, hopefully they respond better... Unfortunately I can't say they're going to respond better because of the coach, we'll just have to see if they play with more energy (you know, since McHale basically relies on that).
