They paid Lewis the minimum last year and they'll be happy to add him to the mix for around that number again. Remember that Manning is also a free agent. They want to bring him back too, for cheap.

Honestly, Ive just grown a little tired of Graham over the last season...I say we cut him, get an extra 2.5 million in the cap and use that to make sure Moore, Lewis, and Wilfork are with the team.
I expect them to sign Moore and then wait the market out and hope that one of Lewis or Manning comes back for barely above the minimum when the dollars dry up.
I don't think they need to cut Graham. I still expect to hear something about a restructure for Jonathan Joseph that lowers his cap number. I really hope they add Wilfork and I'm with you, I'd love to see Lewis and Moore on the team so they can run some twin safety stuff with DJ confined to the box. Edit: Is JJo going to be the incredibly rare free agent that signs a five year deal and gets every penny?
I don't know how confident the team would be in going forward with Griffin and Fiedorowicz though.....but I'd do it too.
I never thought he would see the entire length of that contract...crazy that he has been able to play just well enough to make it worth it. I wouldnt mind a mini restructure to extend him 1 year and have him for about 9 million in 2016. That means we'd go into 2016 with 2 starting CBs and about 60 million in cap money...and looking at the FA list for 2016, some very good potential.
I doubt any other major cuts are coming until after the draft. You don't cut graham (or Joseph) until you need to.
I figure CJ needs to step it up after getting a season under his belt. After all, Im pretty certain that pick was all BOB, so it's time for the coach to show everyone why he was chosen. If need be, we can draft another TE in the mid to late rounds. I just feel its worth losing Graham if we can assure Wilfork, Moore, and Lewis to be on this team. We'll see how it plays out.
That's true, we don't have to be under the cap until later on but if we plan on using that cap space to sign a FA we might as well cut him now because it would be inevitable.
He's not as accomplished but he's younger and would likely be cheaper. It would be a nice consolation prize and could end up being the better player.
Has there been any news on WR's lately? I think we will go WR in the draft for sure but would like a veteran at a decent contract. Not sure if we will have the money for it but Crabtree would be intriguing to me although I am sure he will go to highest bidder which won't be us. I would like for a guy like Stevie Johnson to come into camp or even Reggie Wayne to see what they have left.
