Dmo is such a scrub!! fire him!! he is the worst player in the world because he struggles to rebound. He is worst of all time!!! Even kwame brown was ~100 times better player, because rebounded better. Fire dmo, hire Kwame!!! Clutchfans will be happy with this decision.
Sometimes on, sometimes off. Rebounding most of the time is a off. But it's the easiest thing to fix (I hope).
This is where i would do anything to have Asik back. I'll take Asik over Dmo anyday. We need another big. We need height. Mchale worked with what we had. It's another first round loss folks.
Dmo is not a center and a good rebounder, to bad Houston have nobody that can provided that until Howard gets back.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOLOOLOLOOLOLOL It is beyond me that anyone could think that Dmo had a bad game tonight. It really shows who watched the game and who doesn't . Dmo played great defense against aldridge the first half. He was more that solid in the second half too. He hit big threes and looked about 50 percent on post moves. Honestly he played Aldridge very well. He had a bit of a tougher time against Lopez but still did ok in containing him on the boards. Clutchfans lacks any ability to critically think. It is plain to see that Dmo played very well tonight.
Who? (kidding). But really, come playoffs, the big rotation will be Dwight, Jones, Smith, and Dmo out or spot minutes. It is clear who is getting out-played: this isn't a one game trend unfortunately.
He didn't rebound well. And that is what most people are whinging about. Problem is that DMo isn't a great rebounder, and so perhaps we shouldn't be expecting 10+ a game from him very often? Players don't tend to 'learn' rebounding.
D Mo is neither PF nor C. I have no idea which position he should play. He looks awkward for both positions. Half good and half bad at both, no extraordinary skills at certain spot.
20 extra rebounds for the Blazers. Probably 14 of those were directly resulting from D-Mo not boxing out correctly, getting out-muscled, and not leaving his feet for rebounds. Yes... D-Mo did have a very poor showing. Even if you are only going to blame him for 10 rebounds that 10 possessions leading to 15 to 20 points. Maybe D-Mo shouldn't be expected to grab those rebounds because he's a 4 playing the 5 or whatever, but its besides the point. He has a job to do in Dwights absence and he only fulfilled half of it. The other half was so incredibly important to beating a team like the Blazers its crazy that anyone would just brush it off because he did some other things well, and played good positional defense. You can play great defense all you want, but if you don't get the rebound the offense gets another shot, and another shot, and eventually makes a tough shot because the NBA is full of tough shot makers, and LaMarcus Aldridge is the best of the best.
D-mo just isn't a starting center, he doesn't have the length or instincts to handle the position against starters. Smith, Dorsey or Jones can't do it either. This team can't beat anybody except maybe Dallas in 7 game series without Howard. If D-12 can come back, D-mo moves to PF and backup center. He is much more tolerable against backup C's because very few teams have 2 legit NBA centers. Overall he has done a very good job filling in for Dwight, but against good teams it's too big a liability.
He'd a be a great PF next to Dwight. He was a great PF with Dwight a few months ago. I never understood why people thought we could turn him into a Center though. He's not built like one. Never has been
Fran Fraschilla scouting report on D-Mo back on draft night- "Motiejunas is a Conscientious Objector to rebounding" I don't know what the deal is guys, but he's a 5 that CANNOT, and does not make an effort to improve at this. He's shown he can do it when motivated (led the league in rebounding in Europe), but time and time again he still goes back into D-No Rebound mode. Its a major flaw in his game, and he's not going to be able to start as a 5 against big NBA teams and have success. Paired with Dwight, yeah. I think Dwight is a good enough rebounder to rebound for the both of them. Paired with another big who doesn't lead the league in rebounding.... you get what you saw last night. Even with Pat Bev, Harden, and Ariza helping out.
I'm actually baffled you can say this. Dmo got owned....I mean crushed on the boards. Some of those missed rebounds weren't even "toss ups" where he just got out muscled, some he had clear position and his man just jumped higher and grabbed it right over his head. It's like his head was someplace else. The value and impact of those missed rebounds cannot be overstated. That's not dmo's strength but that's still on him.
He is not a good PF IMO either. He lacks length and explosion to keep up with the likes of the elite PF in the West and does not have the instincts or aggressiveness to compensate. That is one of the biggest reason I continue to be so down on him. His only real strength is his post game. He definitely needs to move back to the bench once Dwight gets back, unless T-Jones is still building up his stamina and shaking off the rust. The alternative is that we continue to start D-Mo next to Howard when he returns have have Jones and Smith come off the bench as a small ball front court combo.
