The rockets could add one of the best defenders and rebounders in the league before the playoffs. Then our fans wouldn't be on suicide watch. But perhaps I'm just drunk and crazy.
Good looking out J.R. It went COMPLETELY over my own head, I was thinking they were possibly signing someone as a stop-gap until D12 gets back
I'd rather watch that team of Lowry, Martin, Bud, Scola, Hayes. I used to enjoy that team so much more. Every victory was somethign to cheer about. That team had no superstar, no all star but still put up a winnign record thanks to heart, chemistry, identity and a great coach. This team has all the talent in the world but lacks any identity or system of playing basketball and lacks a real coach. That team overachieved, this team has vastly underachieved. Watching that team put up winning record brings more joy than this bunch being knocked out in the 1st round
Insider? Somebody crack the code. I can't figure it out. It's like a DocRocket wrapped inside a Codman.
Its that we've been through this already in past years, similar outlook, with lackluster results. 2007: Yao Ming is back, we're ROLLING into the playoffs on a HOT STREAK! - End result: "Boozer'ed" in playoffs 2010 - 2011: IF we can get Yao Ming just ON the court, even in LIMITED minutes with our overachieving team! - End result: *cue Johnny Utah in Point Break* "He's not coming back..!" 2014: We get back Omer Asik "healthy" and buying into the system, look OUT league! - End result: Aldridge All-Day in playoffs Postseason is what matters, but again the Rockets need certain matchups to advance. Not having Dwight now in regular season can affect seeding where its facing a more difficult matchup.
Yeah, but we (CF) screamed bloody murder during that time because we didn't have a legit star. Now that we have two plus a decent bench, we're finding out where some of the real weakness lies.
There seem to be a lot of folks that are quite certain that Howard is going to come back and all of a sudden be this game changing addition that are going to put the Rockets over the top. He'll be better than TJ and D-Mo alone, but there is nothing yet to suggest that a DPOY candidate and a nightly double-double guy is ever returning to this squad. There is a good chance that we're already seeing the type of team the Rockets are going to head in to the playoffs with. A little better version of it? Sure. A MUCH better version? That's debatable.
It's just two losses, it will all be ok but I can totally see how being 20 games over .500 is underachieving. Picking 14 every year with 42 wins is akin to watching U.S. Soccer under Bruce Arena.
Do you even watch the games? Their system/identity is 3pointers! Fast break opportunity - Pull up for 3. More than 14secs left on the shot clock - Shoot a 3. Less than 14secs left on the shot clock - Shoot a 3. At the FT Line - Step back for a 3 Timeouts - practice 3s Halftime - gameplan for more 3s Need a 3 to tie - go for a layup. Obviously I'm exaggerating lol.
