He'll get at least $5 million a year. I'd rather resign Lewis and sign Bruce Carter, who is visiting, with the money spent on Moore.

Did the Texan make it clear to retain JJoseph yet? What's his salary situation as deadline wise to cut him if needed?

Not too bad. Hopefully all of the guarantee in Year 1.

    5 million?

    That's top 15 safety money.

I can't see him getting that unless he goes to a team looking to find the salary floor.

Personally I would like the Texans to cut JoJ also and going younger and faster, there could be some growing pain but it will give you the chance to grow some young players.

Kareem sucks ass big time in his first couple years also and looked like the worst CB in the league.

    I hate the Hoyer deal.

Basically going to be a $1MM cost from going from Fitz to Hoyer, with a late round pick (from Jets). That's fine, I guess.

He's a top ten safety. Denver has invested so much $$ in the secondary so that's the reason he wasn't resigned.

We will be able to get out from both deals from this year. That is the biggest thing to take from both of these contracts... didn't strap ourselves down to either one.

Hoyer getting less that what was being reported ($6M/year). Not bad.

His head coach in Denver who is now in Chicago and in need of a safety isn't interested in him.

More importantly, the guarantee is small (less than Sanchez and McCown) and it is only for two years (with the ability to get out after one). Good news.

Bruce Carter would make this team much better.

Guy can defend the little guys in open space! We lacked that last year.

I got tired of seeing Cush high-tailing it 5 yards behind on 3rd down.

They haven't said anything yet but his base salary is 8.5 next season and a cap hit over 12m

Dude graded out a 2.4 on PFF. To put that in perspective, Devin McCourty graded a 16.9 and our own Kendrick Lewis graded a 1.6.

PFF grades on safeties are really shotty. He is a + in coverage and a pretty mediocre run defender.... would be a definite upgrade though.
