If Swerenger had been hanging with Watt instead of Clowney, the headline would have been:

Watt bites teammates dog, dog taken to vet.

Didn't Kenny Thomas get bitten in the face by a dog?

Pitbull attacks JJ Watt, requires season-ending surgery.

The real question is will he ever play for the Texans.

Two things concern me here, legitimately I think, just generally.

    1. I have been around dogs for 50 years, and not one time have I ever been bitten by a dog, certainly not hard enough to 'break the skin'. Dog's don't DO that, unless they are provoked somehow.

    Or..

    2. Having a pit bull in the first place, which, wow, huge surprise that Swearinger has a pit bull. Those dogs should be illegal, and that's the end of it. Nobody will ever convince me otherwise, I don't care how many of you have them, and are convinced they are the biggest sweet-hearts; one day it may go berserk on you, and that's just a genetic fact.. it's bred into them. They are dangerous animals and should be illegal.

So we have here a really bad combination of poor judgment and poor behavior. Poor judgment on the part of Swearinger for HAVING the damned animal in the first place, and poor judgment on the part of Clowney for being AROUND the animal at all. Second, potentially some amount of bad behavior around the dog to provoke the bite. Unless the dog just randomly walked up and bit Clowney hard enough to break the skin, for no reason?

Now I am not condemning either guy, because I don't know exactly what happened. But The fact that it happened at all concerns me, and there are going to be some questions about this incident which probably should be answered truthfully and in detail.

But who among you saw the headline 'Clowney bitten by TEAMMATE'S dog, taken to hospital' and didn't fill in the blanks with 'Swearinger' and 'pit bull'?

It's the people, not the dogs. If you outlaw them, the same people will start getting Rottweilers, then outlawing them, Doberman Pincers and so on and so forth.

If you are outlawing dogs because they were bred to kill, that's like half the breeds of dogs. You are going to have to outlaw everything down to Dachsunds, who were bred to dig down into dens and kill freaking badgers.

IMO, the biggest badass dog is Rhodesian Ridgebacks, bred to kill lions. I'll take a pack of them vs a pack of Pit Bulls.

The only reason you hear so much about pit bull is because every wannabe thug thinks it a fashion accessory that makes them into a gangsta. And they train them like they are a weapon.

Dogs don't kill people. People kill people. I guess you could just make any dog bigger than a house cat illegal...

BTW, I've been bitten by a dog once. It was a big fluffy hunting dog that belonged to a doctor. It bit me in the leg like 15 years ago when I entered his house back when I was fixing people's computers. I still have a tiny scar on my leg.

Edit that - I was bit when I was like 15 by a teacher's "dog" that was 50% wolf at boarding school. WTF kind of teacher gets a wolf - dog around children? Talk about unstable - that thing had mood swings like a heroin addict.

More people are biten and hopitilized by Golden Retrievers than by Pit Bulls.

On the case of them being dangerous. Yes a lot of things are dangerous in the hands of an idiot. Give Swaninger a Black Lab and he'd be negligent And not train it. You must belive in outlawing Guns huh?

I'd rather people need a license to get ANY dog. That would solve the stay problem which is of bigger concern.

Don't doubt that you have been around dogs, but all the points you stated are not true and you're making facts up.

It wouldn't have. Teddy would be in a cabin somewhere studying the playbook, not messing around with pitbulls.

On the serious though, how much worse could this past season have gone for your Pro Clowney/Anti Teddy crusade? I guess Teddy could've won a Super Bowl.

It would have been bad if Teddy had been an above average QB....fortunately that didn't happen.

You would have if you had read most of his Texans takes.
