.You are using rankings and im giving you an example of the mavs. You dont like that example? Did it really astound you or you really are a sheep? i can play stupid too. Whos talking about Miami heat. Uh lol are you ok?
I used rankings to show that our terrible jacking threes offense has actually really been very good the past 2 years. The both of you then said well what did that do in the playoffs? Something my use of offensive ranking didn't imply anything about. All I said was the guy was wrong about our offense. I didn't blatantly say or imply by any means that offensive ranking alone correlated with playoff success. You then threw out the Mavs as some kind of evidence that these rankings mean nothing. I think? Anyone who looks at both sides, like you should, would see they have a run of the mill defense so a great offense isn't going to be enough to make them a threat. History has proven this over and over that when the playoffs end generally the last 4 teams standing were top 10 in both and also usually top 3-5 in one or the other. Just looking at the ranking of 1 side doesn't tell you chit. But again I was never saying it did.
When did Mo Williams become representative of great offense? Whatever the Rockets run on offense, it's better than Mo freaking Williams. What's next? Are you going to make a thread stating we missed out on Jose Calderon's great defense?
So you are telling me the Rockets don't have to add any player from now on because whatever the Rockets run on offense is better than X player or Y player? Last time I checked Smoove was also an very inefficient offensive player but was he a bad addition? Mo Williams is better player than Jason Terry and would have made our bench much more dangerous. I am tired of all your excuses. Whenever Morey misses out on a player you guys will try to downgrade him by listing out all his weaknesses and persuade people that he's a terrible player. But I swear you guys would crown him the best GM in the league if he had traded for Mo. lol And for your information, the Rockets only rank 14th in offensive rating, which is mediocre at best.
No. I am telling another poster, in a thread about Mo Williams, on the subject about Mo Williams, in a string of posts about Mo Williams, that his offense does not fit the Rockets offense nor better than the Rockets offense. So no, I'm not referring to player X or Y. And I'm not referring to Josh Smith. I've written several posts regarding my thoughts on Mo Williams in this thread. If you wish to state your disagreement with those opinions, please do so rather than putting words in my mouth and then disagreeing with a statement I never made.
Last year in Portland Mo was 10 pts and 4 ast, and was horrible in the playoffs. That's what we could expect if he was here. He's not going to be 2nd in the league in time of possession here.
Really hope we make a run at him in the off season, so long as he's affordable and no long contract. If we keep bev they complement each other well. Everyone wants an all star for PG but offense runs through harden, no all star PG is is gonna really want to play that way. Mo has finals experience, previous all star, he's a pretty big guy can guard some SGs, and 10 and 4 in the playoffs, playing behind lillard averaging 40mpg isn't that bad he did what was ASKED...(he could have shot the ball a little better) same as minny, and now charlotte. I think mo could be our new younger jason terry. Not to thread jack but stocktons son is beasting in the NBDL been avg 38pts 13assts 6rebs and 4 steals the last week or so, as much as I hated stockton...wouldn't mind taking a look at him, he's got good genes.
Sorry, my post may not have been clear. Mo averaged 10 and 4 in the regular season last year, and 7pts and 2 assists in the playoffs, with a PER of 4.6 and a TS% of 0.462.
Ok, no disrespect but either way playing behind lillard still hurt his stats. I'm not a huge analytics guy I know they matter but, I've played ball and Barkley had a point...a poorly spoken one but all the analytics per 48 min most likely won't play out that way. Guys like mo who are willing to take a back seat are guy's I'd want on my team. By no means am I saying he's our key to a title but I think he could(ve) be a good piece. I think we both can agree he would have been better than prigioni, and cost us the same possibly less.
Definitely could have used him, but there are 29 other teams out there guys. Morey might not have had the option to get him...
Very true, but charlotte got him for gary freaking neal and a secoumd rounder I'm sure morey could've done better than that. He was just to busy chasing the unicorn (dragic) and charlotte pounced first.
For all the debate Mo has caused id like to hear the cap break down of what trading for Mo would have meant over trading for Pablo. I do believe Mo would have been an overall talent upgrade to our team, but I do wonder as to what extent that upgrade would have been. He's not exactly a guy you point to as a talent that must be added no matter what. I know some despise hearing it, but the future cap impact may have been too much for the slight talent upgrade. We as fans can only look at moves and non moves with a limited amount of info. It's impossible to know what or what not was discussed. It's very possible Morey done goofed, but I don't see goofing on Mo Williams as that big of a deal.
Mo makes about double of pablos salary this year, then he's an unrestricted free agent, whereas pablos contract goes through next season. The only thing I could see affecting is this year, where as pablo affects next season. I dont think morey goofed he just shot for a bigger name (dragic) and failed. One has to think before dragics agent went public with his teams he wanted to be traded to, rockets had to know he wanted max money, and we were probably not on his list of trade destinations, but he still pursued him. Charlotte just simply moved quicker we could have sent terry and 2 round pick and actually saved money this season if im not mistaken, correct me if im wrong. I think Terrys deal is around 5 mil mo's is around 4 mil.
Ok, I'll translate those stats into Charles Barkley for you. Mo shot really bad, and didn't really contribute much else in the playoffs. He did have that steal, though.
Pablo's contract is nonguaranteed next year. gives us the ability to make moves with his contract over the summer #flexibility
Mo WIlliams is better than any PG on our roster. Mo Williams has more experience than all PG's put together on our roster (JET is not a PG). Mo Williams has been to the finals as a 2nd option which is much more can be said than anyone on this roster besides Dwight. Mo Williams could have been had for cheap. Morey F'ed up
Morey definitely ****ed up on not getting any PG help when it was clear Terry was more of a SG off the bench. If Morey was conformable with Terry as a PG, he should've gone after a SG to help now. He did neither.. We can say but he got us Brewer and Josh, well true, but when a guy like that could be had for cheap and can contribute now, why not take the risk? Morey always takes risks on prospects, but rarely on guys who can truly contribute now.
