Andre wasn't disrespected and no one that matters feels like he was. They told them what his role on the team was going to be if he stuck around and he chose to leave. They treated him like an adult and were upfront about their intentions.....that's showing respect.

Some of y'all embody everything that's wrong/annoying with fans. I understand the the term "fan" is short for fanatic, but it seems like there are posters here who aren't even a fan of the team. It is currently March, and there's already people falling off the wagon and being pessimistic.

Regarding the coaching staff, B.O'B needs at least 2 more years for me to judge his abilities (as if my opinion mattered anyway). This team was a couple of heartbreakers away 11-5, maybe even 12-4.

Regarding the QB situation, elite QB's are rare. They are extremely rare, that's why they are considered elite. I'm willing to see what we have in Mallett, but I'm not expecting him to be the next *insert elite qb here*. I know it sucks knowing that the Colts have had an elite QB for almost 20 years, yet they still only have 1 championship to show for it. QB is the most important position in team sports, but it doesn't guarantee rings.

TL;DR version: It's going to be a longggg off season, per usual.

Bobbythegreat I hope I'm being too pessimistic because if I'm still overly optimistic we may F around and be 6-10.

SMH. Well at least you now know who the Texans are playing....that's a step.

    Huh? Like who?

    Coaches -
    Gary Kubiak (incomplete)
Dom Capers (never got a HC job again)
Jack Pardee (never got a HC job again)
Jerry Glanville (flopped with the Falcons).

    Players -
    Connor Barwin
    Owen Daniels
    Dunta Robinson
Warren Moon (was a mistake to let him go... but he didn't necessarily "learn from those mistakes.")
    Earl Campbell??

Really not sure where you're going with this argument...

11 wins with a mediocre QB? I think it can be done if the schedule turns out as wimpy as advertised. Perhaps even if not.

2005: 10 teams with 11 or more wins
    Jaguars (12-4, Garrard/Leftwich, mid 80s QB rating)
Giants (11-5, Eli Manning, mid 70s)
    Buccaneers (11-5, Chris Simms/Griese, low 80s)

2006: 5 teams with 11 or more wins
    Ravens (13-3, McNair, low 80s)
    Bears (13-3, Grossman, low 70s)

2007: 6 teams with 11 or more wins
    Chargers (11-5, Rivers, low 80s)

2008: 9 teams with 11 or more wins
    Steelers (12-4, Rofleberger, low 80s)
    Ravens (11-5, Flacco, low 80s)
    Titans (13-3, Collins, low 80s)
    Giants (12-4, E Manning, mid 80s)
Panthers (12-4, Jake Delhomme, mid 80s)
Falcons (11-5, Matt Ryan, mid 80s)

2009: 7 teams with 11 or more wins
    None apply :(

2010: 7 teams with 11 or more wins
    Jets (11-5, Sanchize, mid 70s)
    Bears (11-5, Culter, mid 80s)

2011: 6 teams with 11 or more wins
    Ravens (12-4, Flacco, low 80s)

2012: 8 teams with 11 or more wins
    Colts (11-5, Luck, mid 70s)

2013: 9 teams with 11 or more wins*****
    Bengals (11-5, Dalton, high 80s)
    Colts (11-5, Luck, high 80s)
    Chiefs (11-5, A Smith, high 80s)
    Panthers (11-5, Newton, high 80s)

2014: 9 teams with 11 or more wins
    Lions (11-5, Stafford, mid 80s)
    Cardinals (11-5, Palmer/Stanton, mid 80s average)

***** - I called this year out because around this year the "average" QB in the NFL now clocked in at a QB rating of about 90-95. Whereas when I started the research (2005), the "average" QB was around 80-85.

So yeah, interesting stuff. In the last 10 years, of the 11+ win teams, 22 teams out of 76 of them have managed to do it with mediocre/average QB play. About 30%. Not unheard of, but not great odds, either. It also seems to be trending towards "you need an above average QB".

Didn't Wilfork go to the U with Andre Johnson and Frank Gore... hope you Colts don't hate on Houston and sign Wilfork too.

We are at $13MM before the Hoyer/Fitz situation gets figured out, so most likely will be around $11.5MM. That is before draft pool, so more like $7MM in space.

He's fat and can get in the way. Pretty much what you want in a NT.

If Houston signs Wilfork that would take Houston's defense to a whole new level. Don't know if Clowney will play or not but that would be pretty awesome for Houston to have Watt and Wilfork.

Much like Andre Johnson isn't the Andre Johnson of the past, Vince Wilfork isn't the Vince Wilfork of the past either. He's still a fat guy that should stop the run up the middle, but he's not the beast he once was.

While true, he's better than Ryan Pickett and Ryan Pickett was a difference maker for this team because of how much better he was than the garbage we had.

If Jimmy Grahm is truly available then we will be in pursuit. That is the type of player that would be a perfect fit in this offense.

Have the room if we cut Joseph.
