Console Wars Thread! PS4 vs. Xbox One vs. Wii U Fight!

How am I misleading anyone? Its not like he is gonna buy an Xbox One and then be like "OMG SALVY LIED TO ME".... Its a great console that like the 360 has a great future vs PS4 which is somewhat questionable.... I think that The Xbox platform will always have the advantage with titles and software..... Not saying PS4/PS will not land another gem like TLOU...... Just saying I'd put my money on The One......

 

Never said its like Elder Scrolls... It has similar elements in an open world. Someone who likes The Elder Scrolls might like this as well.... might.... Just a suggestion...

 

I am not sure where you're getting your info, but the PS4 is doing just fine. It'll be a good console until the PS5 is released...

For me, Sony has far better exclusives than Microsoft. MLB the Show is what got me to buy a PS3 back in 2007. Xbox cannot even sniff a baseball game as good. Like you mentioned, Naughty Dog games are also awesome, but I heard that Uncharted 4 will also be on PC. This generation, it's looking like a good PC can play most everything that consoles can except for a handful of exclusives. Right now, I have my next gen games sprinkled over my PS4 and my PC.

Bloodborne (Demon's/Dark Souls guys) comes out later this month, and it's by far my most anticipated exclusive there is so far. It's only announced for PS4, but I bet that it eventually makes it to PC.

If the rumors are true about Microsoft bringing back Joe Montana Football (2K football) as an exclusive football sim, I will definitely be buying an Xbox as well. God I hope those rumors are true. I have been longing for football since 2K shut down the All-Pro Football 2k8 servers a few years ago. It's a travesty that there isn't a football game on the market. And no, Madden does not count as football.

If you can only have one of the three, it looks like a good PC with an xbox controller is the way to go as a lot of the "exclusives" for both consoles are also coming to PC, and the ones that don't make it at launch will probably make it eventually.

Neither of these games will come to PC. From a technical standpoint, there would be no reason not to, but Sony will be publishing each directly (and I believe the own the IP to both). Sony generally has a "No PC ports" for their games. SOE was somewhat of an exception...but they're not around anymore (they weren't really "Sony" anyway when it came to games).

I guess you should never say never. But it is really unlikely they will make their way to PC.

From Software could do Dark Souls 3 (or some other IP) that is published by someone else that might be released on PC.

On the exclusives front, I think both sides are pretty underwhelming right now. All the best stuff is multi-plat. I have no doubt Bloodborne will be awesome, though. I'm also a way bigger fan of Uncharted than Tomb Raider. But that's all just personal preference of course.

 

Ok...I guess I was wrong. I thought I read somewhere about an Uncharted 4 PC release, which did surprise me a quite a bit. Naughty Dog is definitely a reason to own a PS4.

 

I'm not anti PS4.... Its a great console and it has the firepower to deliver great experiences but I don't think its all there yet and neither is Xbox..... Have to admit that The Show is to PS4 what Forza is to Xbox.... As for as exclusives, well..... I guess this is always going to be based on what your past consoles were. Some people cant wait for uncharted the same way some cant wait for Halo 5. A few gamers out there owned both and will continue to silently enjoy best of both worlds.

Now, I personally feel like the Xbox360 was a better console last gen and Naughty Dog really saved PS's behind..... With that said I think Xbox has an advantage and I think that this gen they are the clear underdogs who are trying to bring it. They are not bending down and taking it. They are going to do whatever it takes to make sure they have better and more titles. And I will be surprised if they don't succeed just because of the sheer power and financial superiority Microsoft has over Sony.....

I would mention upcoming Xbox titles but it doesn't matter, there will always be a seclusion out there waiting to counter with a PS4 titles that is suppose to be amazing and awesome but then bombs "cough, The Order".....

 

I don't think you can go wrong with any. Personal preference is what it will come down to.

I have an Xboxone and it's great. I wanted titanfall and am still playing it.

I like the kinect and running apps like amazon prime through the xbox. They need to add sling already.

You think Xbox has the advantage... but they're clear underdogs? Which is it? At least data (sales numbers) backs up the underdog part, but you've given no good reason why Xbox "has the advantage."

Yeah, MS has more money. They've always had more money, since original Xbox. Yet they let PS3 sales numbers pull basically level with 360 by end-of-life, squandering a year's head-start and releasing a stranglehold on third-party support that they had earned not just from the head-start, but from having the more developer-friendly platform. And then Sony pulls level? It's like they stopped caring. 360 exclusives were great early on, but they just ran out of juice at the end there.

Then they follow that up with launching at the same time as Sony, and Sony's got like a 70% sales lead? Yeah. Where on earth do you get that "the PS4's future is somewhat questionable?"

 

Because PS4 has sold better does not mean its a better console or that it has better titles. 2 years ago we had an extremely large amount of crying because Xbox was attempting to implement a new playing field with a lot of change that a lot of people couldn't handle. A hate bandwagon got going against the Xbox and here we are today. Xbox had designed something with a new era and generation in mind and the people whom they built that console for denied it. People wanted physical discs yet praise PC and steam..... PS fanboys took advantage and so did PS.

PS played the game perfectly, they absolutely took every cheap shot possible at Xbox and released at a lower price. No question this was the driving force behind PS4's instant success. Not blaming them, if anything it was well played by PS... Xbox's failed attempt at reshaping console gaming for the future is where they got the head start. But I don't feel like PS4 did anything to earn it. They never offered anything new other than upgraded hardware that does the same exact thing that last gen does.

Everything new that Xbox had worked on got thrown out the window and Xbox had to backtrack and offer people what they wanted. The same thing we have had since the
PS3/360 launched. Physical discs, online gaming, streaming apps and decent social features.

So where do I get that PS4's future is somewhat questionable? Because they have yet to earn their sales..... They have yet to provide something strong enough to justify the early success which I believe is just a popularity contest. The Xbox on the other hand has done everything to try and earn their place this generation. At least Xbox is earning every Xbox purchase and rewarding their customers with great content and a growing console.

When I see PS release something truly great for the PS4 I will admit it but for now Greatness in fact does await.

 

All I know is Bloodborne might finally be a reason to dust off my PS4 (I love the souls games)...

Anyway WiiU and PC so far are only things I've played lately. XBox One and PS4 have been so underwhelming so far... I also think they screwed up by making them easier to emulate (eventually), I mean I think Ps4 will be emulated sooner than ps3, and at least before w/ the 360 and ps3 I felt they had some interesting hardware, now though it's like PC is way ahead. For example I'm not even talking about the frames per second and hardware being superior on pc, I guess what pisses me off even more is the ****ing load times on consoles (other than the wiiu), it's like you sit there forever... I'd put an SSD in the ps4 but from what I've seen there's no point, while on pc you can load your games so much faster.

I feel if after bloodborne I get bored again, I'll just stick with PC and wiiu, hell the 3ds has more appeal than the ps4/xbox one lately. And no I'm not some hater I own all of these consoles (except the One) and build my own gaming computers, I'm just disappointed in real first party games other than Nintendo.

If I wanted to play the best graphics I'd play on my pc, but I'm just asking for sony/ms consoles to not waste my time loading games slow and so far not offering any good first party games, and apparently that's too big of an ask.

Oh also media center support on the xbox one (haha I'm still rocking ceton cablecard setup, so I guess my 360 technically does get a lot of use).

 

More non-answers. Sony earned their sales by releasing a more powerful product at a cheaper price. The fact that MS tried to launch with consumer-unfriendly policies does not somehow make their future brighter.

Greatness in fact does await for XB1 as well.

Notice I haven't even been making an argument that PS4 is a great system in these posts, nor that PS4's future looks better in these posts. I'm merely challenging your assertion that "XB1 has a great future vs PS4 which is somewhat questionable," which you've provided NO basis for. It's hilarious that you're trying to make a 70% sales deficit into some sort of argument for having a "better future."

 

Hardline will be 900p for PS4 and 720p for X1 SMH.

That's cute.... If you honestly believe that the hardware between these two consoles are much different and that PS4 has a clear advantage "power" wise... Still waiting for PS4's all games 1080 60 fps claims...

You are flat out wrong that PS4 has earned their sales, they have released not one title not even one that has set the PS4 apart from The Xbox One and vice versa..... They sold on hype and bandwagon. Not with a better product because so far its not.

Xbox has earned every single sale with price cuts, interesting exclusives and actually giving those who are willing to buy an Xbox what they want.

So no answers? Hmmm lets see. Is it really hard to believe that the dominant and richest software company has potential to create better software for their console? Are you even questioning those expectations? That Microsoft improved the 360's experience as time passed by and that they will continue to update and expand Xbox One's as well?

You see last gen it was not Xbox doing what PS3 was doing... It was PS3 doing what Xbox was doing...... This gen is still the same because Microsoft will continue to implement features and Sony has to keep up. This could turn out to be a David vs Goliath story and Sony alongside Naughtydog and several other dev companies could upset Xbox and release gems left and right but to expect Xbox to lie down and die is almost as ridiculous as to expect that Ubuntu will overtake Windows.....
