I always wondered what Kerr could've done for Jordan to punch him in the face. Now I can see it clearly
http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/double-doubles/sort/tripleDouble Watch out James Harden... Looks like Steph Curry is pretty high on the triple double list too.
Harden should be the leagues leading scorer. Has there ever been a time where a player wins the scoring title without scoring more than another player?
2 years ago. Carmelo more points per game, Durant more points. It's points per game. It always has been, and it will continue to be.
media slurping of Curry is off the charts, don't think it will happen. Look at the front page of yahoo over a cool shot.
does yahoo have regional headlines? because i see kerr's exasperation and draymond as the only 2 warriors related things
Also of note, The Rockets have 4 national TV games left (3 ABC 1 ESPN) and the Warriors have 6 (4 TNT 2 ESPN). I don't count NBATV.
The other day he made that behind the back pass for the 3pter and they had an entire article written on that one play. Today they had that Kerr expression thing which was really circle jerking Curry's crazy shot. Funny, can't remember the last time they gave Harden any love. Here is the recent one, I'm having trouble finding the other one. I think I may have already posted it in another thread. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-b...-disapproves-and-then-approves-223125191.html
It always depends on what a MVP is for you. Some people say it is the best player on the best team - well then it's Curry. Some people say it's the one with the best stats - that should be Westbrook. Some say it's the most talented player - that's LeBron. And some think it is the player, that helps his team win the most - and that's Harden. It you take most valuable player literally, than it should be Harden. But I think most people go for the best player on the best team.
Interested to see if that paradigm applies to a balanced team like the Warriors. While curry has been consistently the best player on the warriors, it's not by too much. Last night he was the fourth best player on the Warriors and they still blew out the Clips.
4th best player? Great analysis based on box score watching. Curry made CP3 his b**** yesterday and consistently drew double teams leading to open shots for his team mates. The offense was in stride because of what Curry was able to do. It's a tight race between Curry and Harden, but I'm not going to rage if Curry wins it. They are both deserving in my eyes.
If Lebron, Westbrook, or Curry win it it will be deserved. If you dont think that then you are a homer who cant be objective.
Are you kidding? CP3 harassed Curry all game. And Curry got James Harden treatment all night. You sound like a Warrior fan bro. Green, Thompson, and Livingston were the sole reasons they won yesterday.
I mean, I watched the game. Tons of players who are not MVPs draw double teams. Point is, Curry wasn't the best player on the best team last night. He often isn't.
They deserve it, sure. But Harden is more deserving. But in my opinion Curry deserves it less than the others. The Warriors are too talented. They bring Iggy, David Lee, Shaun Livingston and even Bogut, for some games, off their bench. What other team has that type of depth? Then take into account that Curry has a player like Thompson who is capable of 40 point nights and its hard to justify Curry as the most valuable player in the NBA since his team is stacked. He is 4th, in my opinion. LeBron is 3rd, in my opinion. He can very well win it without any complaint from me but he basically took a 2 week vacation during the season so his case is not as strong as someone who has done it the whole season. Even then Lebron has two capable players surrounding his in Love and Irving who are capable of dropping 30-40 any night. At this point, I put Westbrook as number 2. But if he can average a triple double the rest of the way and lead the Thunder without Durant then he should get the MVP. Right now, Durant is the only one that can stop Westbrook. But right now, he is second. We all know Harden's case. He has to keep putting up numbers to stay relevant though.
Yes Curry has better help, but people are VASTLY underselling the players around Harden. How can we say we have one of the best benches in the league now and also claim to have the least help? If Westbrook continues the pace he is on then he should be the MVP, unless Harden can put up triple doubles like Westbrook. I know Westbrook's usage rate is insane but i doubt voters care about that.
Westbrook has missed 14 games, he's also missed a lot of shots. Lebron has 2 top 15-20 players playing next to him, he was also mediocre at the beginning of the season. It should be a two man race between Curry & Harden. Harden having the slight edge, lot of season to go though.
westbrook is not going to win mvp. mvps aren't on 8th seeded teams. he's only being mentioned because of the numbers hes put up in the last few weeks.
I get the feeling the media will go with Curry for MVP, but Harden's got a pretty solid case if the Rockets finish in the Top 3. If they win the division, he deserves the MVP. How anyone could justify not voting for him if the Rockets wind up 2nd in the West with Dwight and T-Jones out more than half the season is beyond me. Anyone think the Warriors would be winning anywhere near as many games if Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes had each missed over 41 games?
