So do we trade Fitz and drop Keenum? I wonder what we might get for Fitzy, he is a very serviceable backup qb.
It is what it is. Mallett/Hoyer is a lot better than Mallett/Fitz in my eyes. Just keep treading until we find our guy (and there is a slight chance that Mallett could be it but I highly doubt it).
Keep hope alive lol I'll be having drink with Bob McNair at the rodeo while he's laughing carelessly pretending to care. Maybe he can sell us on saying it will take another 2-3 years for us to be good.
Ok I'll give it to you that's true. I even see real hope in Mallet. He could be the one. At least there's true hope.
One game where he was actually healthy he was quite good. I'm interested to see what the parameters on this deal are (and the length). If I had to guess, I would go 2 years, $13.5MM, $8MM guaranteed.
signing them both is a giant waste of money. If you don't have Mallet signed, healthy, and ready, the rest doesn't matter. Hoyer isn't any better than Fitz or Keenum and is a lot more expensive. I'd rather sign a slot receiver with that money
Watt's pretty awesome:

@MattOverton_LS I think I'm going to try that jump-over thing. So O'Brien is pretty much doing what Chip Kelly is doing in Philly; going after his type of guys regardless of talent. Still can't believe they've gotten rid of Jackson, McCoy, and Maclin.
We'll try to trade Fitz. His contract is what makes him attractive. Keenum might still come to camp, but if we do sign both Mallett and Hoyer, you have have to expect Savage to be the 3rd QB. No room for Case.
He's been trying to sell the exact opposite. That we'll be a playoff team sooner rather than later. They're not the Astros.
Kinda what I figured, if O'B gets both his guys in Mallett and Hoyer then Fitz will be a nice little trading chip.
